Silver Fang mod - Gin and Riki Dog Companions SE 1.2.1-fix3PT-BR
Changelogs
Version 1.2.1-fix3
Did one final fix to the ADL patch, I had accidentally included a LE based plugin and it wasn't even ESPFE. Applogies
Version 1.2.1
Removed Gohei from the JobAnimalTrainers faction, he would wrongly have dialogue to buy horse armor from him.
Fixed the right global value to show up for the animal cost in the dialigue in the A Dog's Life patch, might not show up on existing games unless you restart the quest with console
Fixed some mixed up dialogue conditions when you buy Gin or Riki
Version 1.2
Added a missing condition to when you try to buy Riki while you already have an animal with you.
Changed Gin's confidence from Brave to Foolhardy
Completely scrapped Gohei's greeting related to Gin and Riki's scars, mostly to avoid any conflicts between the No Scars textures and the A Dog's Life patch
At least a decade ago I tried to create a mod of a similar concept, sadly I had much less knowledge in modding and scripting unlike today, so basically I had no idea how to make custom animals follow you. So now that I have the resources and experience, I decided to revive this idea from scratch.
This is a mod inspired by the anime Ginga Nagareboshi Gin (or Silver Fang). It adds the two unique dogs Gin and Riki as potential followers, sold by Gohei Takeda who can be found by the inn in Ivarstead.
Gin and Riki's models are reshaped and retextured based on the Ice Wolf, to resemble an Akita Inu while staying somewhat close to their original designs and lore. Riki's color scheme for instance is based on how he looked in the anime, while Gin has his silvery color scheme with tiger-like stripes. I did all this out of memory.
I have tried to replicate the way Vigilance and Meeko are recruited respectively, with standalone dialogue quests.
If Gohei somehow dies, you can talk to Riki or Gin to recruit them for free. You can also get them for free if you do a certain favor for Gohei (with a couple of spoilers below)-
Asking Gohei about the path to High Hrothgar may lead to an encounter with the giant monster werebear Akakabuto, who will show up near the Frost Troll that you're guaranteed to encounter.
You can loot Akakabuto's head and hand it over to Gohei, then you will earn his friendship along with having access to his dogs for free.
Gin and Riki are marked essential so they cannot die, they have their own unique abilities with balanced Unarmed Damage and speed boons, Riki can also knock down enemies with a pounce. Gin and Riki level up with the player, up to lvl100.
Note: No standalone normalmaps are included for Gin and Riki in this mod so they're using the ones of the wolves, and I'm using True Wolves of Skyrim in the screenshots.
In a future update I have thoughts of making Gohai able to follow you, and also make Akakabuto's head mountable in one of the Hearthfire houses.
Installation: Just install the way you would've installed any other mod, preferably with a mod manager like Vortex or MO2. Manually download the archive and drag-and-drop it into the application. Then enable the plugin.
