About this mod

Larger maces for bonking in all standard material types, Now including DLC! Smash some skulls!

Permissions and credits
Great Maces 1.2 FINAL: Great Maces now have a speed of 0.7 across the board, inline with battle axes, though the way animations work make them feel a little slower than battleaxes when two handed still, which is the ultimate goal. DLC Great Maces have been added, mod now requires Dragonborn.ESM and Dawnguard.ESM. All greatmaces have proper inventory models as well. Unless a major bug is reported by a user, this should be the final, ultimate, last version of Great Maces, meaning this mod is now finished with development and should be bug free, smoothly playable with no immersion breaks, and feel close to the vanilla game. (Unless you get all the cool animation mods, in which case it will feel like For honor or Elden Ring or something.) If the mod does not fit those criteria, please feel free to let me know how it can be improved. Leveled lists aren't a thing, but if someone wants to make a SPID patch or something they can.

SYNOPSIS
You're here because you like big bonkers. I made this mod for myself, and others who like big bonkers. These bonkers are bigger than your standard mace, somewhere between a warhammer and a regular mace. The main reason for making this mod, aside from beefier, longer ranged maces, was to have maces that looked good when held in both hands using Dynamic Grip. Vanilla maces have a shorter haft, and the bottom hand is either clipping or not holding the mace at all when two handing, as displayed by the screenshot of my character two handing a vanilla steel mace. Now, Dynamic grip users can have good, long hafted maces that their character can wield properly in both hands.

STATS
Great Maces have higher damage than vanilla maces, but a much slower attack rate, only slightly higher than a warhammer and lower than a battleaxe. When used in both hands via Dynamic Grip, a Great Mace will deal 2 points less damage than its' corresponding warhammer of the same material type.

TECHNICAL STUFF
All Great Maces have the blood and bloodlighting nodes repositioned to accurately fit the weapon, some of them might be slightly off, feel free to adjust in outfit studio or nifskope for personal use. All Great Maces have smithing and tempering recipes at the forge and grinding wheel respectively, they require the same materials to forge as a regular mace as well as an additional ingot of the material type and a piece of firewood.

Note that none of the recommended mods are required for the Great Maces to work effectively, but you will only be able to wield them in one hand, which is only half the fun.

RECOMENDED MODS
Dynamic Grip for two handing the mace.

Modern Combat Overhaul (MCO)
For cooler animations one or two handed.

For Honor in SKYRIM | Conqueror Animations For the best one handed animations when using a Greatmace and Shield.
