Staff Enchanting is a fun system to make getting the type of staff you might want to carry around with you that bit more convenient, however, the means it which it was introduced means it is far from convenient, with a single bench located in the far corner of an island locked behind quests.
Technically, this is completely fine, as Neloth implies that it takes someone of his genius level intellect to be able to make one, but the amount of staves that exist in the world point to this not being the case, so, on that basis, I decided that I should scatter a few benches around Skyrim (and Bruma, if you have the patch for that), keeping the number limited so they aren't super common, but enough that the player will never be more than a hold away from access to one.
The next issue is that the vanilla table is undeniably Telvanni in design, which is great for Neloth's tower, but terrible for Skyrim (and Bruma), so I set about makeing a custom staff enchanter model for use in Skyrim, which is what this mod uses. Not content with that, I made a mod to change up the staves on the vanilla enchanter to further distinguish the two (More Morrowind-y Staff Enchanter). When I decided to include Bruma in my distribution, I also made a custom workbench for those too.
While not required, this mod is inspired by, and primarily designed around, Staff Enchanting Plus, which significantly opens up the possibilities with staves, especially when combined with the Sorcery skill line from Constellations - Additional Player Skills.
Core Mod
Adds "Basic" Staff Enchanters to:
- Whiterun - Dragonsreach
- Markarth - Understone Keep
- Windhelm - Palace of the Kings
- Winterhold - Hall of Countenance & Arch Mage's Quarters
Allows crafting of Unenchanted Staves at the Staff Enchanter
Adds Unenchanted Staves for sale to relevant merchants in each location a Staff Enchanter has been placed.
Full Staff Enchanting Plus support:
- Mainland Staff Enchanters use soul gems (or anything that acts like a soul gem in game) for enchanting.
- Unenchanted Staff recipes created at the staff enchanter.
- Special Renamed to Crafting since the use case has been broadened from just special staves.
Beyond Skyrim: Bruma Addon
Adds Cyrodiilic Staff Enchanters to:
- Bruma - Synod Conclave - This Staff Enchanter follows the locked conditions of the Synod's Enchanting Table which is only unlocked via a quest.
- Frostcrag Spire
Adds full integration for the unused staff models included in Bruma (see image section), with all enchantments and crafting recipes, and patches staves found in Bruma to use these staves rather than vanilla ones. These recipes don't use Heart Stones and instead use Bruma's Welkynd Stones. (Patch available for those who swap these out for Rare Curios' with my Synergy Patch to enable crafting recipes for enchanted staves and to make Rare Curios' Welkynd Stones function as Morpholiths for Staff Enchanting Plus)
There is only a single spell merchant in Bruma, so Unenchanted Staves were added to their inventory for sale.
With Staff Enchanting Plus, Cyrodilic Staff Enchanters can use both soul gems (or anything that acts like a soul gem) and Welkynd Stones for enchanting.
Staves CC Addon
- Crafting recipes for all unenchanted staves
- Restored cut base game Iron Staff and unused Dwarven Staff models, with unenchanted staff recipes and equivalent recipes for all enchantments included in Staves

Available for both Mainland Staff Enchanting and the Beyond Skyrim: Bruma addon, these files alter the name of the "School" staves to be non-specific due to the free nature of Staff Enchanting Plus and, if necessary, adjusts crafting requirements to suit the new designation where appropriate.
