About this mod

A lightweight and dynamic lantern, candlelight, and torch mod made to work with Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered.

Changelogs
Description
NPCs and followers with the lanterns provided will start off holding their lanterns in hand when it's dark and then place them on their hips when in combat. Players are given a spell that enables dynamic lantern use much like with NPCs, which probably shouldn't be used in VR.

Where lanterns are distributed depends on the type, e.g. Dwemer Lanterns can be seen on Markarth Guards, Magic Lanterns on Winterhold Guards, and Iron Lanterns are most widespread - on bandits, guards, etc.

For diversity, spell casters can be found using candlelight instead of lanterns in and outside of combat and torches can still be found distributed randomly.

For players:
  • The iron, alchemist, and dwemer lanterns require 'Lantern Oil' to be used which may be found on NPCs that use them as well as merchants when CID is installed.
  • Dwemer lanterns are the brightest but consume the most oil, Alchemist lanterns are the most efficient but have reduced brightness, and Iron lanterns sit somewhere between Dwemer and Alchemist in efficiency and brightness.
  • Magic lanterns use magicka instead of lantern oil and have the same brightness as alchemist.

Requirements and Recommendations
* And all their requirements
Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered ESL VersionWill not work without it
SPID - Will not work without it
Light Limit Fix - Requires this to fix no light bugs
CID - If you want merchants to sell lanterns and oil
ENB Light - Alternative to Light Limit Fix

Compatibility
Not compatible with my other lantern mod, other than that, since this doesn't edit any vanilla records it should be compatible with
everything. Followers and NPCs that use custom races will need to be added to SPID file for this to apply to them.

IED Users need to set torches to disabled:
Spoiler:
Show
Go to View - Display manager View - Select Equipment slots - Select Global NPC - Open Torch options - Select Disabled - Repeat for
Male/Female - Select a preset and save.
