About this mod

Makes a bunch of werewolf animations slightly more humanoid while maintaining a somewhat intimidating look.

I put together this in just a couple of days, after New Years Eve, because I decided I wanted to make up for a bit of a change from the werewolves' default hunched-over posture. Something that was also inspired by pictures I've seen of werewolves from the Van Helsing franchise.

I thoroughly reposed a big selection of vanilla werewolf animations in Blender, with the help of the graph editor, so these were not made from scratch.

PS - I'm using my modified version of the Wicked Werewolves skeleton in the screenshots.

✔️ The animations I've replaced:
  • Idle/Combat idles
  • Walk and run cycles
  • Jumping and falling
  • Turning
  • Post-transformation howl

❌ The animations I've left out (partly for compatibility reasons reasons, and partly to maintain the more feral look for certain actions):
  • Attacking/shouting
  • Swimming
  • Sprinting
  • Any other on-fours animations like feeding, bleeding out or getting up from ragdoll mode

You want to spice up the sprinting and swimming, too? Go grab Werewolf Animation Overhaul and let my mod overwrite it~

I have patched the following mods:

Known issues:
  • While running, the right leg may randomly spazz at a single frame, I have yet no idea how to fix that, and I'm aware that my husky animation mod has a similar issue. If anyone's willing to help me solve it, please contact me privately, that would be tremendous!
  • (As pointed out by user XIONGCHUMMO-)
  • 1. The right upper arm twists in a strange way, just like Dislocation.
  • 2. The left upper arm clips the left side of latissimus dorsi muscle (near left shoulder)
  • 3. The running and wakling cycle are not so fluent, some little stumbles happen.

  • I'm currently having a hiatus from modding so it might be a matter of time before I feel like getting rid of these flaws. If they're too bothersome, you can just uninstall this mod for the time being.

Installation:
You can download the archive and then drag-and-drop it into the mod managing application you have (like MO2 or Vortex)
