About this mod

Patches to make IronDusk33's skills and perk overhaul--Synergy--work with your huge load order, using modern modding tools like Skypatcher, SPID, and Keyword Item Distributor. Additional patches for MCO (Modern Combat Overhaul), Spell Tome Sorting, Kvite's Simple Start, and various other personal tweaks.

Changelogs
After trying many perk overhauls, I can confidently say that my favorite one is IronDusk33's Synergy - Skills and Perks Reimagined. IMO, it balances the Choose-Wisely of Master of One (they both prevent generalist builds) and the Power Fantasy of Ordinator (they both offer 400+ perks in total). A TLDR explanation of Synergy: you start with a rank of 1 in all skills, you cannot level a skill until you unlock its respective perk tree, and once unlocked perk trees have no skill level requirements.

So why don't more people use it?
- It touches a lot of vanilla records. It edits the Player reference, it edits Races, it edits Creatures, it affects the Economy, and spells, etc. Anyone with a large load order would have needed considerable manually patching before tools like SkyPatcher, SPID, etc.
- It can be quite difficult. I've uploaded some patches to make it slightly more forgiving.

Available Files:

Synergy - Race and Player Patch - Skypatcher
- Fixes a bug where WeaponSpeedMult didn't work correctly on player vampires
- Makes Synergy compatible with any Race overhauls (load them after Synergy).
- Makes Synergy more compatible with anything editing the player record (load them after Synergy). A good example would be the many alternate start mods that change your starting inventory or remove starting spells, etc. Honestly, I think most alternate starts would need this patch.

Synergy - Keywords
- SPID and KID files that distribute necessary weapon and armor material keywords, race keywords, and spell keywords

Synergy - MCO Patch

- Light ESP that changes power attack perks to make more sense for an MCO play through
- Removed left, right, forward, directional requirements from power attack perks
- Removed backward power attack perks and replaced with perks that require full health instead (e.g. First Strike)
- Halved the dual wield "speed" buffs so they don't look too ridiculous with your MCO animations

Synergy - Speech
- Light ESP that nerfs the insanely difficult buy/sell price penalties when you don't enroll in the Speech tree. There's still a penalty, but it's more reasonable. For example, you can still buy Health Potions for like 80 gold instead of 200+. This makes it so you no longer feel forced to enroll in Speech every play through.
- Removes the price penalties entirely by merely possessing a Speech Skill Book. This makes it possible to buy/sell at normal prices without accumulating levels of experience in Speech.

Synergy - Aspiring
- Light ESP. Instead of only allowing new Perk Trees at level 1, it allows new Perk Trees up to level 3.
- You can still enroll in new Perk Trees, at any level, if you have a skill book.

Synergy - Vanilla Tome Sorting
- Light ESP. If you use a mod that renames spell tomes in a sort-able way, like "Destruction - Flames - I", this will apply this same naming format to Synergy's new spells.

Synergy - Kvite's Simple Start
- Light ESP. Load after Kvite's Simple Start (my preferred alternate start mod). Patch made for version 1.6. I'm not sure if it works with their latest version.

Synergy - Buyable Skill Books
- Light ESP. I actually released this as a separate mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/137571 Does not actually require Synergy. Allows you to go shopping for the skill books needed to unlock Perk Trees after level 3.

Synergy - Disguise Formlist Patches

- Synergy uses Formlists to enable certain "disguise" behaviors. If you have modded armors that you'd like to work as "Bandit" disguises, or "Vampire" disguises, you need to add them to the Formlists.
- These files are the Formlist Manipulator and Keyword Item Distributor files that I personally use. You probably don't use all of the mods that I do, but you can use these as a template to get you started, if you know what you're doing.
