The Stormcloaks are now the Red Army and the Imperials are now the Finnish Army, and over a few hundred squads of infantry and tanks now roaming the province, engaging in firefights all over the place, that you can watch from afar or decide to take apart in on a glorious campaign.
The way you play now changes, as your enemies are most likely now wielding rifles, machine guns, sub machineguns, grenades, rocket launchers instead of bows/swords/axes/maxes/shields. Take cover from afar and snipe your enemies, or rush in with grenades or SMGs to do the job, or take control nearby allied tank and blow your opponents to pieces, or order a heavy artillery strike on an enemy position, or order your army to charge on the enemy as you stay behind cover.
Build your army at nearby forts, deploying squads of troops, tanks, or planes, or take charge of the squads you encounter in the world as a new commanding officer in the civil war.
The entire AI, UI, and weapon/damage system has been overhauled and modernized to provide the most realistic, immersive, and cinematic experience. In 1st person, you will be able to aim down the sight of your guns. In 3rd person, you will be able to aim over the shoulder with a laser sight/dot for extra accuracy. Enemy Ais now have different accuracies with different weapons and different troop types. NPCs are more accurate with rifles than they are with SMGs/LMGs. Damage is now locational as headshots will do 3x as much damage as regular shots to the chest/back, while shots to the arms/legs will barely do any fatal damage.

THE WEAPONS
New WWII rifles, machine guns, submachineguns, grenades, and rocket launchers have been added and given not just to soldiers but other NPCs in game as well. They have their own capacities, reload times, fire rates, critical damage, etc. which make them all useful in a variety of different situations.
Bolt-action rifles do the highest damage per shot and retain their damage at long range, which is great for sniping, but take longer to fire for each shot and reload after five shots.
Semi-automatic rifles do the second highest damage per shot and also retain their damage at long range, and usually can fire up to 10 times before requiring a reload.
Light machineguns do the third highest damage per shot with an impressive fire rate, but do slightly less damage at long range, use ammo very quickly, take very long to reload, and slow down your movement significantly, especially when firing.
Submachine guns/Assault Rifles do the least amount of damage per shot, but have an impressive fire rate, mobility, but do much less damage at long ranges, which makes them great for close quarters combat and assaulting enemy positions.
The rocket launcher does a ton of damage and can take out multiple enemies in one blast, but has a very long reload time, and ammunition is quite rare.
Grenades, which are commonly used in battles by soldiers on both sides in devastating fashion, do less damage than the rocket launcher but the casualty radius is significantly higher, from 12-15 meters depending on the grenade. Anti-tank grenades can be used to destroy tanks.

THE PATROLS

The Finnish Army and Red Army now patrol all over Skyrim engaging in firefights all across the province, from roads to villages to random areas in the wilderness. They have been organized into squads and platoons. The organization of patrols is based 100% on historical organization of units in the Finnish Army and Red Army. In-game you will notice that the uniforms of each soldier vary depending on their rank, whether they are a private, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, etc.
They have an AI of their own - they will retreat if outnumbered/losing and will call for backup if they are outgunned, prolonging the fight. They will charge enemy positions, tend to their wounded, and equip better weapons on the battlefield.
Red Army Rifle Squad
Red Army Rifleman squads in this mod can be anywhere as low as 5 soldiers up to 13 soldiers. They are lead by a sergeant who uses a PPSh-41 SMG and the second in command is a corporal who likely is using an SVT-40 rifle. Each squad usually contains at least one machine gunner with a DP-28 to lay down suppressive fire, while the rest are rifleman.
Red Army Platoon
Red Army platoons are made up of multiple squads of Red Army Rifleman (total soldier count can be anywhere from 16-22 soldiers), and are led by either an officer such as a Junior Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Senior Lieutenant, or Captain.
Red Army Border Troops
Red Army Border Guards are regular guards in controlled territory and are also organized into squads of 5-13 patrolling their friendly territory. They are given access to better weapons than regular soldiers and are much more elite in combat.
Red Army Guards Troops
Red Army Guards Troops are battle hardened elite Red Army Riflemen, and are much more fearsome in combat. They have higher health, are better equipped, aim better, and do more damage than regular riflemen.
Red Army Penal Battalion
Huge in numbers and made up of convicts and criminals, they are led by military police officers and are ordered to charge the front lines in dangerous suicidal assaults on enemy positions.
Finnish Rifle Squad
Finnish Rifle squads in this mod can be anywhere as low as 5 soldiers up to 13 soldiers. They are lead by a sergeant who uses a MP-40 SMG and the second in command is a corporal who likely is using a Gewehr 43 rifle. Each squad contains one machine gunner with a MG-42 to lay down suppressive fire, while the rest are rifleman who may occasionally wield a rocket launcher.
Finnish Platoon
Similar to the Red Army platoons, they are made up of multiple squads of Riflemen (total soldier count can be anywhere from 16-22 soldiers), and are led by either an officer such as a Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, or Captain.
Stormtrooper Squad
Finnish Stormtrooper squads are distinct from regular squads with their camouflage uniforms. They are armed with assault weapons and are generally better equipped and perform better in combat compared to standard troops.

Performance
I recommend starting a new mod list and just downloading this and the requirements. If you want to priortize better gameplay over graphics, I first recommend bumping uGrids from 5 to 7, which will make the battlefield much larger and more alive. Then I would use community shaders instead of ENB. If you are doing fine, then activate hardcore mode and watch all of Skyrim erupt into a huge battlefield where hundreds of soldiers will die within an hour or two of playing. You also have the ability to reduce the troop population with a power in your inventory, you can adjust the number of patrols for each side to your liking for performance or gameplay purposes at any time.
Requirements
Very easy and simple installation. All you need is SKSE and Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. Version for SE and AE.
