- Randomizes Ore Veins by swapping them to another of the same model but different ore. So an Iron Ore Vein could now be Ebony, Corundum, Moonstone, etc. This does not affect ore veins that do not share models. The gem Geodes on Solsteim can also be randomized, but are disabled from doing so by default.
- The chance of an ore appearing is governed by how many instances of itself are in the swap pool. The swap pool is on the right hand side of the randomization page. Higher values increase and lower values decrease.
- MCM menu to control various aspects of the mod and ore veins in general. Such as how much ore an ore vein contains, how often it gives it, and how much it gives. Also allows you to decide the percentage chance of receiving gems per ore drop.
- Added the possibility to get gems from all ore veins, which was lacking in vanilla. Shellbugs, Stone and Clay deposits don't give gems by default. Stalhrim gives various Ancient Nord items instead of gems, as I felt this was more fun and thematic.
- Attacking ore veins with a pickaxe now uses the same count as the animation. This means you can use both to mine without losing progress. The only downside being that you can't differentiate them now, but this feature wasn't used in vanilla anyway.
- Bug fixes were forwarded from the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. Lots of texture tweaks without actually touching textures or models. Load this mod after the Unofficial Patch.
Most of these changes are done via added/tweaked code in MineOreScript and MineOreFurnitureScript, so any mods changing these will be incompatible at worst and need patching at best. Any mods that add more vanilla ore veins should be fully compatible if they use vanilla landscape textures. Mods that add entirely new ore veins with new ores will need patching. They should still work, but won't be randomized or have any MCM controls. Retexture mods should work fine. Mods that change the meshes should be fine, but some may need patching.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or bug reports make sure to let me know!
Requirements:
- Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch - Make sure to load before my mod, otherwise some of my fixes will be overwritten!
- SkyUI - For the MCM menu.
- powerofthree's Papyrus Extender - Required to swap ore veins.
- Papyrus Util SE - Required for ore veins to respawn properly.
Recommendations
- Praedy's Ores and Ingots - SE - The only mod I am aware of that fixes some odd mine meshes. Not necessary, but if you like my texture changes this will take it a step further.
If you enjoy my mods and would like to support my future work!
