About this mod
This mod is a simple recolor of the existing Saturnalia reindeer saddle, giving you three new options. It recolors the saddle so that it looks less festive and more like natural leathers and pelts. There is a brown leather set with a light fur trim, a brown leather set with a dark fur trim, and a black leather set.

I have been wanting to use the Saturnalia reindeer as a mount for a survival
playthrough for a while now, but the festive colors of its saddle never fit the
vibe of my hunter characters. I haven’t been able to find a retexture for this
reindeer’s gear that fits a more natural hunter aesthetic, so I made some more
natural options for myself. I figured others might be dealing with the same
thing, so I’m deciding to make these available here.
I have been using mods for many years but have never made one or published one before,
so please enjoy my first attempt. Any feedback is welcome.
There are three separate main files available. The light fur, the dark fur, or the
black leather. Feel free to download all three, but please only have one
installed at a time otherwise the game gets confused.
You need the Saturnalia Holiday Pack CC for SE or the Anniversary Edition for this
mod to work.
Specific Changes
For the brown leather saddles
- The blue on the saddle pad has been changed to a lighter brown to look more like
leather padding.
- The blue chest strap has been changed to brown and lightly shaded in an attempt to
make it match the leather on the saddle.
- The gold decorative trim of the saddle pad has been changed to the same brown has
the chest strap.
- The metal saddle rings, the bit mouth pieces, and the nose band studs have been
changed from gold to silver.
- The fur trim of the saddle pad has been changed from white to a cream color (light
fur) or an ashy brown (dark fur).
For the black leather saddle
- All of the saddle’s leather and cloth textures have been changed to a dark gray.
- The metal saddle rings, the bit mouth pieces, and the nose band studs have been
changed from gold to silver.
- The fur trim of the saddle pad has been changed from white to an ashy brown.
The reindeer models in my images are modded with my preferred mods for deer and elk. The mods I am using are MM - REAL ELKS by MassiveMaster andBetter-Looking Antlers for Reindeer by Demifish. I highly recommend checking out both if you’re wanting a different look for your reindeer mount.
