[Description]
My optimized settings for the mod SSE FPS Stabilizer. Does more while being noticable less.
Designed for people with little knowledge about adjusting these kinds of things themselves. Lets you choose a fitting target fps in the fomod to work out of the box.
Adjusts over 3 times as many settings as the presets from the original mod's fomod. All tested to actually do something ingame, varying from Bethini Ultra to Bethini Poor depending on the settings. The curious can see the exact presets that were used as reference below.
Also solves the issue of actors being able to shoot you despite not being rendered by capping actor distance at medium.

[Requirements]
SSE FPS Stabilizer

[Installation]
Install with a mod manager. Choose whether you're using framegen (for CS or ENB) and select the option that closest matches your average framerate ingame.
The mod works better the closer you are to the chosen number in average situations. Choose the lower one when inbetween two options.

Example Situation:
Average interior: 72 fps
Average exterior: 46 fps
Worst case situation like Falkreath: 36 fps
-> Option to pick: 46 fps
This would make interiors use high quality settings, exteriors would be balanced and smooth out potential drops, and Falkreath would use low settings to recover some performance.

[Compatibility]
Not Compatible with Shadow Boost.
Redundant. This already adjusts the shadow distance so both mods would just be fighting over it.

[Adjusted Settings]
  • iShadowMapResolution     Ultra to Low
  • fFirstSliceDistanceUltra to Low
  • fShadowDistance  Ultra to Low
  • fMeshLODLevel1FadeDist  High to Poor
  • fMeshLODLevel2FadeDist High to Poor
  • fLightLODStartFade     High to Poor
  • fLightLODRange    High to Poor
  • fFlickeringLightDistance    High to Poor
  • fBlockLevel0Distance        High to Poor
  • fBlockLevel1Distance         High to Poor
  • fBlockMaximumDistance   High to Poor
  • fTreeLoadDistance      High to Poor
  • fDecalLODFadeStart    High to Poor
  • fDecalLODFadeEnd     High to Poor
  • fLODFadeOutMultObjects        High to Low
  • fLODFadeOutMultItems     High to Poor
  • fLODFadeOutMultActors          High to Medium

[Questions]
Q: My fps have barely increased. This is a scam!
A: As the original mod said, this isn't meant to magically increase performance but to sortof flatten the framerate between light and heavy scenarios.

Q: I thought the mod didn't support x setting?
A: The mod doesn't need to specifically support any one setting, all it does is change them in memory. If they can be changed in memory (not all do), the mod can change them. All settings I added were tested to appear correctly in logs and make a difference in performance metrics. You can set the shadow distance in this ini to 0 if you don't believe me. :p

Q: Why do I have to know my fps, I had to start the game and look to install this?
A: The mod relies on the target fps to be accurate and there's no way to automatically detect this. If it was a preselect value one of two things would happen: 1. The target fps is higher than what you can achieve which will make your game run on minimum settings the entire time; or 2. The target fps is lower than what you achieve and the mod won't ever do anything.

Q: I use a different framegen (Lossless FG, AFMF, etc.) what do I pick?
A: Doesn't matter whether you pick framegen yes or no as long as the chosen framerate is based on the before/after that you picked. If you're not sure, or your lsfg framerate is smth like 84/120, select no for framegen and use the game's native framerate (reported through steam overlay, display tweaks, lossless scaling's before framerate, etc)

Q: Meow?
A: Meow.

Enjoy! :3
