If anyone is still having this issue it's because another mod is overwriting your skse.pex script file. in my case it was Marriage Mod - To Have And To Hold. To find the mod responsible (in MO2 at least) click the data tab in the right pane, type skse into the filter, locate the scripts folder and expand. You should then see skse.pex along with the mod that is providing the file. I just copied the updated pex file from the skse version that you are using into the mods folder as I'm not a professional modder and I don't know what would happen if you just delete the file from mod folder.

This one right here! After you found skse.pex locate it in your Skyrim data folder. Copy that file and paste it in MO2\mods\scripts\skse and replace. I had three different mods folders that were called "skse", "skse latest SE version" and "SKSE64Data". I replaced every skse.pex in each of the three folders and it worked for me. Thank you so much!

I'm at my wit's end and would tear my hair out if I didn't shave my head...

    • Problem:  RaceMenu body sliders don't work, aside from height and weight (face changes work fine).
    • I use HIMBO for male bodies; batch built body and outfits in bodyslide (although I recall the included HIMBO presets worked previously without this step).  Outfits reflect the build, naked body does not.
    • Relatively new to MO2.  Everything worked fine until LOOT threw a fit and deactivated all of my mods.  I was tinkering with Solitude environs when this happened.  Yes, I ran LOOT as an executable through MO2.

    • Once I went through the tedious process of reactivating the mods and booted up my game, the problem was evident.
    • Tried reinstalling HIMBO, Racemenu, Bodyslide and anything else that seemed relevant.  No change.
    • Decided to try a whole new instance and installed SKSE, needed utilities (Power of Three, etc), skeleton and character creation mods.  Got the same problem.
    • Verified game files through Steam, which of course reloaded the game.
    • Replaced SKSE with new download (it was the latest version already, which is correct for my game version.
    • I'm guessing the problem has something to do with the way SKSE is functioning within the game, although other mods requiring SKSE, such as "grown up" mods,  seemed to function fine.
    • I tried cheesewhiz502's suggestion below, but couldn't make heads or tales of it on either my full, mod-heavy install or the new one.
    • Anybody have any clue and want to take pity on me?  Thanks!

I can't start a new game, i keep getting this message: RaceMenu Error(s): SKSE script version mismatch detected (69)
expected (71). Please reinstall your SKSE scripts to match your version. Error Codes: (1)

    Here's a my crashlog: Pastebin

I got the lastest version of racemenu and skse, skse installed manually and everything overwritten, and is able to start without mods. I am using MO2

Edit: nvm i found the issue, i had the scripts folder from skse 1.6.640 in my overwrite folder in MO2

Bro thank you so much.  I have been losing my mind for the past three hours trying to figure out how to unfuck my game.  I couldn't find anything that was helpful for my skill level with mods until this comment with your update about your solution.  You're an absolute lifesaver, bud.  May your pillow always be cool side up, may shuffle always put on the perfect music for your mood, may you never wait in line at the grocery, etc etc.  All hail.

getting the mismatch, 69 expected 72 error, but havent noticed any issues in my game so far. able to use my heavily modded custom races and stuff in racemenu, so not sure if the error is actually ruining anything or what. ive got the most recent updates on everything

Bro I do not know how to get around this, I've tried everything I could find which isn't much.  I've got a vanilla race menu even with your mod.  Its the right version; I'm losing my damn mind.

Same here. Everything has been installed correctly & then reinstalled correctly. On a new game, everything is vanilla & while I can see my presets in the menu, they don't work when applied.

I download and install SKSE in the correct way, also Racemenu via Vortex (Yes, all versions are correct) and ALL esp. are activated. I start a completely new game, I enter showracemenu and... all menu points are empty, except the vanilla options. Could someone please be so friendly and have a solution?
I installed everything 3 times again and again

To those still struggling with this, finally found the issue for myself.  I was using Vortex for my management, Skyrim SSE for Steam. The issue is the game backloads previously installed MODs and ONLY the 'approved ones' by Bethesda, via the MOD in main menu.  Those get reloaded over top of whatever you had from vortex.
