About this mod
This mod adds short & dynamic pauses into Skyrim's music playlists. There will be variable breaks in between. You may hear two songs in a row, or a couple minutes silence. This increases the impact when a song actually begins to play. It makes the music more meaningful.

Before we continue: the music in Skyrim is one of the best, if not the best thing in this game. But there is always music accompanying you throughout your adventures.
There are no quiet moments.
A masterful soundtrack will not become better the more you play it. It actually does the opposite. Let's hit the pause button for a moment.

Especially in dungeons you'll notice a difference. While the original dungeon soundtrack is already subtle, the ambient sound effects will be more intense.
No invisible bards in taverns playing constantly tunes. They'll take a break once in a while.
Notes:
- Changing locations, entering an interior/exterior or open the skill menu may change the current track. If a silent track is playing there's a chance to trigger an actual song and vice versa.
- This mod is not compatible with any music mod because how it works. You'll need a merge patch if you want to keep your favorite music mod.
- The combat music is untouched by this mod. You can install your favorite combat music mod with this.
- Sound overhauls have the power to enhance the effect of this mod, but they're not essential.
Yes but none of them work the way how I wanted. My mod doesn't reduce the music to a bare minimum. You'll still hear the original soundtrack quite enough. In fact, the lightest option isn't far off from the original game.
As a musician I highly appreciate the absence of music sometimes. I've noticed that this game need some quiet moments. I created this mod for myself, but I thought it might be worth sharing.
