Everyone knows the skull of corruption is horribly underpowered. However, I didnt like the power level of existing artifact mods, so I took a crack at improving the artifact and making it useful while remaining vanilla-friendly. The problem with artifacts is that while they are outscaled in the lategame, their respective quests have very low level requirements, therefore heavily improving artifacts into the game can trivialize character progression. To solve this, I just made the artifact scale with a relevant skill (illusion).
The Skull of Corruption
"What manner of staff is that? Such a horror.." -Guard with busted kneecap, 4E 201
Vaermina is the prince of dreams and nightmares, ruler of the unreal. Accordingly, her staff can drain the sanity of almost any foe and drive them to a mad rage.
Base Effect: Frenzies targets up to level 50 for 30 seconds. If powered with dreams, also does 4 damage a second for 30 seconds.
Vokrii Effect: Frenzies targets up to level 50 for 20 seconds. If powered with dreams, also does 4 damage a second for 10 seconds.
The skull uses the vanilla frenzy effect and therefore scales with illusion - meaning that Illusion perks will make the skull stronger. For example, getting the Master of the Mind perk, will let the skull proc on undead, daedra and machine targets. In vanilla, with maxed out illusion, the damage over time is increased to 16 damage a second for 30 seconds with all perks(480 damage). With adamant, the effect is increased to 5 damage a second for 60 seconds (300 damage + 25% attack). With the vokrii version, when illusion is maxed out, the staff eventually does 44x10 (440!) to living targets and 24x10 (240) to other targets, with Iron Maiden and Enrage perks applied to targets as well.
Additional changes -Cost changed from 1000->1500 (why not lol) -Enchantment cost increased from 40 -> 100 (30 total uses)
Staff does not level illusion. All files are ESl flagged. Ordinator perks not supported (yet).
