Are we sure that's not the vrik holsters taking a second to actually trigger the unsheathing? Can you get it to happen by doing a repeatable action like using the sheathe/unsheathing button? If it still is randomly not happening instantly in that scenario then I could potentially put out an update that speeds up multiple frames rather than just one frame? If it does not have any delay in the repeatable case then I would probably blame something else like the vrik holster not registering that you are trying to unsheathe until a bit later sometimes?
VRIK holster is doing more than just unsheathing afaik. It has to equip the item first as well. Maybe another test you can do is switching weapons with spellwheel and see if there is delay there vs just sheathe/unsheathe.
The problem with spells for me is not the speed, the delay, but that switching spells in one hand disrupts spellcasting in the other (when you cast ward in one hand and change spell in the other hand the ward will stop and you have to cast it again). I hoped that making it instant, bypassing the animation, would also stop that behaviour.
It really should be pretty instant. If you're seeing a delay, could that be because either a) the draw/sheathe button requires holding the button, so obviously there is a delay between when you start holding the button and you actually unsheathing, or b) if you're unsheathing through vrik holsters, these require you to pull your hand away from the holster before beginning the unsheathe, so there will also be a delay between when you hold the trigger/grip and the actual unsheathing happens? I've just paid close attention to it myself, and the weapon does appear in my hand instantly once the actual unsheathing animation starts (which again would be after a short delay of holding the draw/sheathe button down or after pulling your hand far enough away from a vrik holster). If I were to manually trigger my character to unsheathe, the weapon should appear in pretty much the same frame.
The weapon should show in your hand almost instantly, but you may find with loud sound effects the unsheathing audio is noticeably still delayed. Only starting after the weapon is already in your hand held before you. This is at least my own experience.
Changing the sound files (see other posts) makes this less obvious.
This mod seems to break the bound bow animation when it appears (it appears instantly then the glowy thing plays above it), but the other bound weapons are not impacted. Not game breaking or anything, but I really like the bound bow animation.
Greetings, could I ask for a similar tweak for spell casting? After releasing a charged spell, there is a noticeable delay. (presumably because the animation is playing) No issue with channeled spells, you have to "charge" those, it's only very slightly noticeable with projectile spells, however a very big issue with master spells like blizzard, fire storm, mass xx etc., with which you release the triggers and you are standing for almost a second until the spell is released. Would it be difficult to bypass those delays as well?
I just tried this mod and it seems to make drawing your weapon a bit faster, but there is still a noticeable, split-second delay before the weapon appears in your hand, if you watch it. The animation's not quite as instantaneous as stated, though I haven't used it in combat yet so maybe that slightly faster draw time is an improvement. Hopefully it's just a cosmetic issue.

With Weapon Throw VR, the weapon now is equipped before it comes back to your hands. So it makes double weapons and that really, really breaks immersion. Any way to have a slider to perhaps make it a little less fast?
There is nothing that can be done on this mod's side.
Normally, animations take long to take effect and Weapon Throw VR tries to fix it by equipping the weapon early to match it.
But it detects if this mod is installed to disable that feature. If that somehow failed (you can check weapon throw vr's log to see if it detects this mod or not), for example if you change the name of this mod's dll etc. you'd have to do it manually from Weapon Throw VR MCM:
Open MCM -> WeaponThrowVR -> Auto Return page -> Auto Return Settings -> Timing correction setting -> Disable it.
That would make sure no delay is applied by Weapon Throw VR for auto return. If that doesn't solve it, that means something else is happening on Weapon Throw VR's side.
Oooh I didn't know there was an option like that, and I was looking for an Ini to set but there weren't any Inis. I'l ltry that! Great tip! Thanks so much
No, this hooks a specific part of the exe so won't work for SE. I'm not sure it makes sense for SE either - in SE you probably want to see the unsheathe/sheathe animation, whereas in VR it's essentially just making you wait since your hands are in your control anyways so the animation is kind of playing "behind the scenes".
I wanted to fast switch between my bow and a melee weapon, in order to perform a sort of combo, precisely to stagger my opponent close range with a bow, dodge roll behind him and backstab him with a dagger (with zxlice backstab mod installed). But the length of the equipping animation prevents it

The thing is, the speed in which the weapons equip is random, sometimes its
snappy and quick, sometimes only a slight delay, sometimes a longer
one.
I do realize that I have spells equipped, so the game needs to unequip
them in order to equip the weapons, but this also occurs when
unarmed

And Dual Wield Block! How could I forget about that mod. Now I can finally play the Gish I was born to be.
