this is ment to give you some background info for skyrim and fo4 as an alternative to standard dx11 interface.
this is a nexusmods guide and is used as a fo4 and skyrim dxvk experience exchange platform, the dxvk author is doitsujin. support him for his awesome work!
Skyrim DXVK Vulkan API Wrapper plus enb for skyrim se with tutorial how to include enb. vulcan api replaces dx11 api and will bring draw call handling to a new level - depending on your hardware. it reduces the fps drops problem due to high draw call bottle neck in modded skyrim and badly optimized standard drivers - also in FO4! currently dxvk may work nice for some or does not change preformance for others. it does not automatically accelerate graphics. it depends on the hardware/drivers to encounter general raise of fps. nvidia has some advantages with native dx11 drivers. read more here.
read more about dx12 and the difference to older limited interfaces also used for the dx11 dpendend fallout 4 and skyrim open world. you will find one important reason here why nvidia rendering often performs better than intel and amd drivers with older dx11 games.
one way to try to circumvent this dx11 driver limitation for amd drivers is to use dxvk supporting better rendering support instead of dx11 direct rendering.
watch background and how to test for high draw calls and the reason why to use vulkan instead of dx11 api is the future at least for amd based graphics.
understand that nvida uses more native advanced dx11 features to support and accelerate multithreaded rendering.

i offer an improved step by step guide how to combine dxvk with enb. dxvk is beta and also my tutorial beta and you are the beta testers if you like. thank you for support! it will surely not work for all and everyone. it works with my rx 570 but you will get into trouble with at least with optimus laptops (missing adapter error). nvidia is not tested much. there are special config settings available for nvidia. check link in sticky post explaining dxvk.conf parameters but nvnidia divers seem to already support a kind of multithreaded rendering optimizaton. so i do not expect huge performance gains with nvidia hw.
many other members gave me valuable hints and i hope this guide and the changes work for at least some of you! thank you for that!
recommended fps test: use scenery with known harsh framedrops / high draw call scenario (area with 15000 or more dc) as test scenery and compare! read more and compare shared experiences in the mod thread.
treat this mod as beta! enb runs perfectly with my skyrim se game but i can not guarantee that it will work for you under all circumstances! it depends on vulkan capable drivers and graphics card!

the vulcan renderer hud which works in fo4 works since v0.4 also for sse.
