About this mod
This mod adds a familiar hockey mask to Frostflow Lighthouse...

I'd like to preface this by saying how much of I fan I am of the Friday the 13th franchise. I own every single Friday the 13th film on DVD, and, yes, that does include the infamous Jason X. When I wasn't a desiccated walking corpse of a man myself, I usually dressed as Jason for Halloween, usually with a cheap plastic hockey mask that I got from Dollar General. So, when I saw that Fallout 4 had a mod that added one of my favorite horror characters to that game, I instantly knew that I had to somehow port it over to Skyrim: Special Edition.
DOOMBASED's Fallout 4 mod, Friday the 13th - Hockey Mask and Machete, had open conversion permissions, and so I went about attempting to transfer that gorgeous mask over to Skyrim. This entailed loading the Fallout 4 .nif file from his mod into Nifskope, converting it into an .obj there, then converting it back into a .nif using Outfit Studio. I then had to find a head to use a reference and as a skeleton base (as the new .nif had no NiSkinPartition or BSDismemberSkinInstance partitions). For this, I used High Poly Head as an easy .nif file to load into Outfit Studio to position and reshape the mask around. I'd like to thank zhongjiedong for helping me navigate both of these programs well enough to do all of that. I would also like to thank winedave for recreating the normal map and for also creating an environmental map for the mask. The results of my efforts to optimize the mask's .nif for Skyrim: Special Edition are far from perfect, but I think that it still works and functions quite well! Unless your character is an Orc, Khajiit, or Argonian.
The original textures and model for this mask can be found on a website known as Gamebanana. Here is a link to the original source files used for both DOOMBASED's mod and my own conversion: https://gamebanana.com/models/3589. The project was created by Rafael De Jongh, Yogensia, and Corvalho, and they were generous enough to apply a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License to their work. If you're concerned as to whether or not this mod breaks the "No Deririvate" clause of that license, I would argue that their work was simply converted into a different format for use here, I.E. .nif and .dds files. You can read more here: https://creativecommons.org/faq/#When_is_my_use_considered_an_adaptation.3F.
The mask itself can be found on a table in Frostflow Lighthouse in Skyrim, and it has fairly poor stats; I simply wanted it for its aesthetic value. You can easily adjust those stats yourself using the Creation Kit, of course.
Installation
Use Mod Organizer 2.
Requirements
None.
Known Issues
The mask clips with different hairstyles, and it clips terribly with the faces of Orc, Khajiit, and Argonian characters. There isn't much I can do about this.
Future Plans
Soon, I would like to attach an enchantment to the mask that allows the player to resurrect from death on a thirteen (13) day cooldown. I'll have to learn some Papyrus scripting, though, so it may take a bit!
