About this mod

Recruit the Soul of Cinder (the final boss of Dark Souls III) to be your companion!

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Hi there first off I want to thank Jb0238177 for letting me use the assets from his mod ('Soul of Cinder Armor and Weapons') which will be linked below:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40218

please note that Jb's Soul of Cinder mod is REQUIRED for this one to work, I encourage that you go and endorse his mod as well as without it this one wouldn't have been possible.

Installation: Use mod manager for both mods, if you wish to do manual installation put all the content from both mod folders into the data folder in your Skyrim SE directory.

Where To Find Him

The Soul of Cinder can be encountered in Blackreach, I put him there so he could act as a near endgame reward due to how powerful he is. If you want however you can just use the command "coc Blackreachcity" in the console to teleport near enough to him. There are no special requirements that needed to be met so you can just go on right up to him and recruit him if you want. He was built on a custom framework meaning that he will most likely NOT (to my knowledge as I have not tested) be compatible with mods such as UFO exc. (if anyone finds this to be otherwise let me know and I will correct this).

Features

- The Soul of Cinder is level 120
- He carries a hefty amount of gold (I was feeling nice)
- He is custom voiced (by voiced I mean he groans when spoken to as he never actually has spoke)
- He carries all of his enchanted weapons (such as the coiled sword for example)
- His scale is meant to resemble that of his size in DSIII (taller than average NPC)
- He can be told to wait
- He can do favours (fetching items, searching bodies etc.)
- He can be traded with
- A book called 'The Myth of Cinder' is added to be bought vendors and is carried by the Soul of Cinder himself

I added the book as a way to try and implement him in a lore friendly way as well as to give a bit of a vague back story on the character (note it is similar to DSIII but not the same), NPC's however will not act any differently when he is around (this is something I want to change, I will try and implement NPC reactions in the future).

Possible Issues

The only issue that you may face with the Soul of Cinder is that he may shrink from time to time. This is an easy fix! All you have to do is exit the current cell you are in i.e. if you are in Whiterun go inside a building or exit Whiterun itself and you'll find he is back to regular size. This is an issue caused by Skyrim's scaling, whenever an NPC sandboxes and interacts with objects such as chairs and workbenches for example they automatically are scaled to fit that object, this is implemented to avoid things such as clipping.

Closing Statement

I apologise if this mod seems to be a bit simple, this is my first time uploading a Skyrim mod. More mods will be coming as I properly learn my way around the engine and there will be a follow up to this mod in which the Soul of Cinder won't be too friendly, I plan to make a boss battle type mod with him which I hope I can bring to you all soon if you are interested.

Thanks again to Jb0238177
