About this mod

A simple preset for Skyrim Skill Uncapper, designed for use with Ordinator.

This is a simple preset for Skyrim Skill Uncapper, designed for use with Ordinator. This is an alternative to Skyrim Skill Uncapper .ini for Ordinator which is overly complicated and makes the early game too slow, in my opinion. If you're looking for a more straightforward progression system, this preset might be for you.

This preset has a few goals:

  • Prevent the player from maxing out perk trees too early, or having too many perks later in the game. Ordinator's perk trees are heavily specialized and offer powerful synergies. With less perk points available, you may only be able to invest in a few of these. Specializations should feel special.
  • Cap the player's progression once they reach the endgame. By level 81 (the point where you should have completed all of the content in the vanilla game), your build should be complete and the focus should shift to gear progression.
  • Slightly reduce the speed of levelling at the start of the game. In vanilla, you level far too quickly from levels 1-10. Early game loot and enemies should stay relevant and present for a little longer, without grinding the game to a halt like some other presets.
  • Allow the player to reach the soft level cap while using only a few skills. In vanilla, you are forced to either use skills you are not interested in, or reset your skill progress in order to keep levelling. By extending the skill cap to 250 without touching the formula cap, you may continue to level without changing your playstyle or affacting the balance of the game.
  • Limit the amount of Health, Stamina and Magicka available to the player. In the vanilla game, you gain 10 attribute points per level, which is a lot. Managing them can quickly become trivial, as most builds will simply select the same attribute most of the time. With this preset, you will only gain half as much of each attribute per level, and 25 of the selected attribute every 10th level. This means that, every 10 levels, you will have gained a total of 75 attribute points, as opposed to 100.

Simply put, here's what it does:

  • Every 2 levels, you will gain 1 skill point (Level 2, 4, 6, 8, etc).
  • Every other 2 levels, you will gain 5 carry weight regardless of attribute choice (Level 3, 5, 7, 9, etc). Carry weight is no longer tied to stamina.
  • Every level, you will gain 5 of your chosen attribute (Stamina/Health/Magicka).
  • Every 10 levels, you'll instead gain 2 skill points and 25 points in your chosen attribute (Level 10, 20, 30, 40, etc).
  • At level 81, you will stop receiving skill points, but still gain attributes with each level.
  • Skills level at their vanilla rate but reward slightly less XP at low levels. This penalty falls off gradually until level 8, when XP gain is returned to normal.
  • All skills cap at 250, but the formula cap is untouched. Perks and magic effects will not scale beyond 100 of their associated skill level.

By level 81 with this preset, you will have gained:

  • 48 perk points
  • 560 total attributes
  • 200 carry weight

Compared to vanilla, where you will have gained:

  • 80 perk points
  • 800 total attributes
  • 5 carry weight per stamina level (max 400)

How to Install

Replace the SkyrimUncapper.ini file generated by Skyrim Skill Uncapper with mine.

Remember: everyone's game is different!
You may need to adjust my settings to suit your playstyle or difficulty level. If this preset doesn't work out for you, check out DirtyWeaselMedia's Skyrim Skill Uncapper .ini for Ordinator, or try making your own.
