About this mod
This is the popular map from GameBanshee which has all locations indexed. Instead of looking online, on your printed poster or on your phone, it is now directly in Skyrim.

Fortified World Map Wall
This is an optional file for you to install. It can be installed individually (standalone) or combined with the main mod with locations. The spell is an adept spell which can be baught from most conjuration spell book merchants such as but not limited to Phinis Gestor in Winterhold or Farengar in Whiterun.
The Fortified World Map Wall spell is an upgraded spell from the original World Map Wall spell. These are the key upgrades:
• Map is lit so you can see it even in the darkest places without additional light sources.
• The wall is now much stronger and can withstand many attacks making this wall a perfect shield against dragon breaths and other threats.
• This is an adept spell so it requires much more magika to cast.
This new spell is an addition and DOES NOT replace the world map conjuration. If you install this optional file, you will get 2 spells, one basic conjured world map (available in the main mod) and another adept spell to conjure a fortified world map wall (the optional file).
Installation: As mentioned earlier, this optional spell is standalone and can be installed by itself without the main mod. If you want to combine it with the main mod, you can simply overwrite the files or load after the main mod. Both are compatible together.
Where can I find the conjuration books?
The Fortified World Map Wall is only available through conjuration spell merchants.
There's 3 places you can find a World Map conjuration book.
1. Thieves Guild Vault: Mercer had no interest in this low level conjuration book. Leaving it in the vault was a degrading message to the guild that his ambitions were much better than theirs. The book is between 2 chests in the vault. You will need to play the Thieves Guild questline until the vault get's unlocked.
2. College of Winterhold Hall of Attainment: Situated behind the stairs that lead to the second floor, most magicians and sorcerers have few interest in casting a simple wall with a map. Most seek power or protection so this spell was left out and probably forgotten by most. After passing the test to enter the college, you should be able to access this book easily.
3. Beak Falls Barrow: Nobody knows the adventurer who left it there, but it is said that this was a note for other adventurers to encourage discovery and bravery. A present for the next person willing to uncover the many possible destinations for the sake of knowledge and the beauty of discovering the world. Probably the most well known first real dungeon in the game. The book is available after fighting the Daugr Lord at the word wall. It's upstairs in the cave on the left of the handle mechanism that opens the stone wall that leads to Skyrim.
Pictures of their locations are in the screenshots.
Anything else I need to know?
There's still a few things I can say:
• The conjured world map lasts for 60 seconds.
• The conjured world map has a very low health compared to the fortified version so you can destroy it with a very low damage weapon or spell to get rid of it easily.
• The conjured world map intentionally has no light. There are several locations available throughout Tamriel to consult a brightly lit world map. You have the choice, an easy access conjured map needing additional light at night or a brightly lit location with a world map, you choose but you cannot have the best of both worlds unless you learn to conjure the Fortified World Map Wall.
• The normal conjured world map book is not worth much because there are already several locations with an accessible world map so people won't be too much interested in buying what is already accessible.
• As opposed to the normal world map conjuration book, the fortified world map wall is worth much more because of it's incredible resistance and making it act as a strong and effective shield.
Why did you do this?
I have a printed map of Tamriel on my living room's wall. Often, I search for a location and I figure out where it is on my map and then try to find it in the game. I love this way of playing where the location is not automatically and immediately revealed for you, that's too easy and removes the gameplay thrill. Using an indexed map, it adds to the exploration of Skyrim. But, I always need to get up, turn on my lights just to check my map so I decided to put this map directly in the game in a convenient location and also summonable. Now I can do the exact same thing but directly inside the game.
Installation, load order and compatibility
Installation: Simply install using your mod manager or unzip the contents directly in your game's DATA folder. Only ONE main file is required.
Load order: As most mods, I suggest you put this low in your mod list. Particularly below grass and terrain mods or else you may have grass and other elements clip through the map setups.
Compatibility: I used Vanilla places and purposely positionned the elements on the main game's areas so it should avoid anything that deals with Dawnstar, Hearthfires or Dragonborn. BUT there may be mods that may overwrite these areas so of course, this mod may not be compatible. Best bet is to place this mod lowest in your load order and hope it works well with other mods changing these areas.
Tested compatibilities
Lakeview Manor Upgrades: No conflicts after building the wall. The only problem is that the map is now less accessible quickly since there is a wall seperating the 2 areas. Asside from that, everythng is perfectly in place without any overwrites. So both mods can be safely installed. I still suggest to load Lakeview Manor Upgrades AFTER my mod.
CBM Guide and CBM Guid SE X: Absolutely all mods listed in my 2 guides are safe to install with this mod. There are no conflicts and this mod is compatible with all mods listed in my guides.
Elemental Destruction Magic: Thanks to Abbraaxus for the 2 possible patches available in the Miscellaneous files.
Any further plans and support?
2023-05-31: Please take a moment to at least read my "Who am I" section on my profile page.
After v2.1.0 and v1.0.0 of the fortified world map wall, I covered pretty much all of what can be covered with a world map mod. So I don't expect other major releases soon. I do take into consideration comments so please do not hesitate to post a comment in the posts tab. I DO read them and I truly consider feedback. I covered all 5 major cities, Lakeview Manor and 2 summonable maps including 3 locations for the spell books and availability for merchants so that everyone will eventually fall on them sometime during the game so I think I covered pretty much everything. Please, do not forget to endorse, that's VERY appreciated!
