Ok so this is rough - I'm not gonna lie about it. It uses most of the resources from Pavelek's Soul Cairn map and Duncan's Bruma Map as a base for the background. But for me it was better than nothing. If anyone wants to continue/clean up my work - you're more than welcome!
Send me a message and Ill send you everything you need.
This started after a few attempts of my own to make a paper world map for the amazing 4th Act in Vicn's amazing VIGILANT mod.
I never really had any kind of understanding of how the original paper maps were implemented. I ended up speaking to Pavelek about the map and found out that he had started work but did not have the time to finish.
He agreed to give me permission to use his files and continue his work - to be totally honest I only found out later that my touch pen had died and did a rough map using only my mouse and various other assets I took from his other maps.
While this doesn't look great it was enough for me to play - and until I have the time to buy a new pen to draw this fully I thought I would upload the rough version for whoever wanted.
I want to say this again - this is my first rough go. I am working on this more but due to the limited time I have I wanted to put it out there for whoever wants.
The Mod continues series of paper maps for a Flat World Map Framework (FWMF).
Flat World Map Framework uses mainly vertical look at map, but allows limited inclination and rotation with held right button as well.
INI file with comments included in FWMF allows to tune map control (keyboard, mouse and gamepad), possible angles and blur.
Requirements
Installation
The archive is mod manager compatible.
Install Flat Map Markers and any 1.7+ FWMF first (marked, unmarked, for Mirhayasu' etc). Make sure FMWF is last in plugin list (only weather fix for it - if you need any - should be lower), then install this mod normally and place it last in mod order (just after FMWF).
FWMF goes with main weather overhaul fixes. For vanilla, Obsidian and Cathedral Weathers you don't need any. Pick either Vivid or NAT fix up to your weather overhaul of choice.
Flat Map Markers SSE by Fudgyduff is mandatory - without it you will experience glitchy player location marker as well as possible map markers shifts while zooming.
Make sure Flat Map Markers config file (FlatMapMarkersSSE.json) has this part:
},
{
"name": "zCHMolagWorld",
"editorID": "zCHMolagWorld",
"markerHeight": 180000,
"enabled": true
}
Compatibility
Not compatible with any other map mods except FMWF. Any mod that modifies world map or its weather should be put higher in load order.
Remove Map Camera Limits - not compatible as well, will break natural edges of map and heights aligning.
Also get along with most UI overhauls. Beside basic SKY UI, I highly recommend Dear Diary UI.
Credits
Thank you so much Pavelk for doing most of the heavy lifting and sending me basically everything I need to continue here. (Including assets for the actual buildings!)
Please reach out to him and consider supporting him on patreon cause the guy is doing some amazing work!
Thank you Duncan for the base of the map taken from his Bruma map and the desert texture from his Grey Cowl Map.
Future Plans
Rework the entire thing basically once I have the tools to do so.
