Version of this mod for Legendary Edition Skyrim is ready! NPC Animation Remix (DAR) - LE

Version 1.3.0 is up! Added more animations, for now ladies only. I will add male versions when I will have the time.
Please join my Patreon to help the cause :)

DAR is causing crashes you heard? Well yes, but actually NO, read this short article "Too many DAR animations can lead to CTD - read this to know how to avoid it"

Hello, I have installed this recently but I can't see animations on the npc, what could be wrong? I am a Vortex user.

Unlike EVG mods for example, in this mod new interesting animations assigned to appear after mt_idle.hkx was played and probability of playing is pretty low and will only happen if conditions are met.

To make sure mod is working you can go to any place with enchanting table and command your follower to use it. There is at least 50% chance to play new enchanting animation. It might not play right away - 50/50, you know - but you can command your follower again and see it eventually.

Hey again CHIM! Just a little note about the Jarl sitting animations. It seems that, if you enable Gender Specific Animations in Nemesis, it can cause the new animations not to play unless the special_jarlchairidlewr files are put within female and male folders as well. For example, currently with my female character, neither 2099000065's jarl animation nor 2099000072's are playing for her. This happened to users of my mod as well.

My workaround was to simply copy each respective animation in their DAR folder, make a male and female subfolder, and paste them in it. This makes sure all bases are covered for both users and non users of Gender Specific Animations in Nemesis.

    Anyway cheers <3

Guys, do you know if you can combine this mod plus Gesture Animation Remix (OAR) and Arm Motion Animations (OAR) because it does the animations very little and I feel like only from one of those 3 mods.

Was hoping to try this mod, but the mod manager doesn't seem to like it? Whenever I try to activate it, an error returns "A problem occurred during install", never seen this before!

Edit: File name issue, new to using the mod manager and just figured out the issue and potential fix!

Glad you were able to solve it, "file path us too long" Windows issue can affect non animation mods also by the way, something to keep in mind

I'm experiencing an animation problem, and I will ask the question here since you have knowledge of such things.
My followers keep making a "Cheering" gesture. Raising their fists as if they are watching a sporting event. I looked at my load order in SSEEdit, but I don't see anything related to "Cheering". I have the base OAR mod, this one, and a jarl sitting animation.

Any ideas on how to either get my followers to knock it off? ;P

That is very curious! Open console, select follower, activate OAR animation log and wait till cheering starts. Open console to stop time, you can comfortably read info about this animation in log. It can be something unusual, so better forward this info to me and I will tell what can be done with it

Could use a bit of assistance here, I only have DAR, how do I restructure the directory to make this work in DAR?

    Nope. Sorry. Nothing.

Animation Remix expands npc animations in a NATURAL way. Like they were doing these things all along. Good job.

Thank you! It took at least 3 years of polishing and I still see how it can be improved :)

I think all you need to do is just select some male character with console, open OAR, activate animation log, close OAR menu and wait and you will see what animation from what mod is playing, maybe you have some mod that does that. If you will find it, you can disable it in your mod manager. But it is possible something else is at work, I can't imagine what...

    Guidancee NEEDEDDDDD!!

So I'm using a couple of idle animations mods, seamless male and Female , NPC Animation remix , Malignis Animations (that also includes hand gestures ) and  Gesture animation remix . (also take a seat ).
    all of these use OAR
But it didnt give me any conflict ( i installed all ) so does it work ok, like OAR priority order lets all animations play , or onlu one mod animations will play
( again i didnt get any conflict ; a vortex user

It is not gonna give you any conflict, if mods add animations of different kind. You can check it by hkx file name even before downloading mods, press Preview file contents.
NPC Animation remix only adds animations only NPCs (by default) use and it is made by me to work with Gesture animation remix, that adds only dialogue animation type that only NPCs use. Basically all my mods made to work together, only OPA and FPA/MPA are exclusionary of all I made at the moment.
Player character only uses mt_idle.hkx animation, you have seamless Female animations and Malignis Animations that add variants for this animation type. Most likely one of those animation packs conceals animations from the other. So just disable one. Or leave it as is, because there will not ve any problems, you just not doing to see animations from mod with lower priority numbers in OAR

My followers hold their head and seem in pain every 10 secondes, immersion breaking, might it be due to this mod ?

Update: The problem was from Underdog's animation mod, it really requires an update, OAR is fine

Can be, try to remove OAR version and install 1.5.0 DAR version of NPCAR
Or you can open animation log to see what submod is causing this and disable it in User mode

In my game, there was already 'EVG Conditional Idles' before installing this mod.
EVG Conditional Idles comes with its own 'MT_Idle.HKX'.

The 'HKX' files may be colliding somewhere in your system.

One suggestion is to delete the 'MT_Idle.HKX' files in the folder [NPCAR ] -> [500aftcombSt]     and see if you like the animation from
      'EVG Conditional Idles '.

I haven't had any CTDs since then.

CTD is a sign of "file path is too long" problem on PC. It is not the mods, its Windows. If for some reason your mods folder is not close to disk's root direction. Better relocate your mods directory or rename modlist (for example) The Phoenix Flavour to TPF. Windows OS can't access files along lengthy file path and because of that OAR won't be able to do it also.
Mod Organizer 2 users just need to rename installed mod folder from something like "Gesture Animation Remix (OAR)" to much shorter "GAR OAR" for example. Do similar renaming to shield patch folder as well.
People who use other mod managers (Vortex, NMM...) need to manually extract "Gesture Animation Remix (OAR)", rename it to "Data", repack and reinstall. If you need a shield patch, do the same for it.

For some reason I can't launch the game with this new version installed, game does nothing, disabling the mod confirms it, I had to uninstall a lot of new mods and narrowed it down to this, I'll have to revert for now

edit: nevermind, it just worked, thanks for the update
