About this mod
Adds some Buildings to the Solitude entrance area & to the city proper (right above the wall against the mountain). The castle gets some more towers as well, plus a nice hall in the Bard's College architectural style. Furthermore three more houses close to the graveyard.

All the Cities look great with that mod. Even Solitude. BUT: the capital of Skyrim just looks like a small Castle, nothing more. There are just not enough buildings, especially in the city proper.
So what I did is: I added some buildings to those places of the "upper city" that, until then, felt somewhat "empty". It's just decoration for now, and I probably won't add interiors. Feel free to do that yourself though, if you are a modder and want to use my mod as an inspiration!
Overview of the added buildings:
4 houses and a tower in the Solitude entrance area:
- on the left: a "larger" farmhouse (two merged together), another "apothecary" and yet another farmhouse close to the gate
- on the right: a third farmhouse, a platform and a tower on the wall
3 houses right above the first part of the Solitude "castle":
- right above the wall against the mountain, again a "larger" house which is just two houses smashed together and another chaple, also some trees
a large hall and two towers to the inner castle:
- a nice hall in the Bard's College architectural style (attached to that one little tower with those gothic windows - just where everyone would put it)
- a large tower next to the Shrine of the Divine
- another smaller tower in between
3 houses to the "aristocratic" area of Solitude - right next to the Cemetery:
- a house with a porch in the corner where the "bridge" meets the outer wall
- a farmhouse next to it - yes, it includes the wall, but thanks to a great invention (trees) you dont really see that
- a large house (actually the Winking Skeever) a the "bottom" part of the small way that is next to the cemetery (this building goes "over the wall" as well and you do see that - my apologies, but I found there definitely needed to be another building)
Compatibility
Compatible: these are the mods I use myself - thus I made this mod fully compatible with them (you don't need them though):
- Drengin's Blue Palace Terrace
- JK's Skyrim (+ the patch for the mod above)
- Solitude Docks
- Realistic Solitude Arch - Proper Port (+ the patch for the mod above)
- Proudspire
Incompatible:
Are the buildings visible from the distance?
No, I am sorry. I was too lazy to figure out how to include that in a mod. You have to do it yourself by using DynDOLOD.
Why I made this mod
I am not much of a modder. Also, there are mods like "Enhanced Solitude" (incompatible with this one) and such, and they are great for sure - except that they add too much in my opinion. Let's be honest: Skyrim is not a large place. Probably all of us tried to imagine how big it would be in "real life", but ingame, where everything is "scaled down", it would not make much sense.
I just wanted to add some buildings mainly for decorative reasons. To make Solitude feel more like a city or at least a bigger castle when you look at it.
One issue remains (except for the missing interiors)
There is only one thing I couldn't get rid of: in the entrance area of Solitude the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (USSEP) adds or changes some trees. I made this .esp using USSEP, but any changes to those trees are just being ignored, so 6 of them just keep clipping through the added buildings. You can either open the console by pressing [^] (German keyboard - on English keyboards that would be the tilde [~] key), click on those trees, type "disable" and press [Enter] - then they would be gone. Or you find another way by using the Creation Kit - and tell me afterwards how you did it. It would be much appreciated! :-)
