Description
In the base game, the unique leveled items that you collect throughout your playthrough have several variants. The variant that you are given depends upon your level at the time. Therefore, the unique leveled items that you receive early in a playthrough can become underpowered later on, as you're not given the opportunity to upgrade them at any point in the game.
This mod allows you to upgrade these unique leveled items by simply equipping them. If you equip a unique leveled item, the mod determines whether you meet the level requirement of a better variant. If you do meet the level requirement, the unique leveled item will be replaced with the better variant.
You can optionally set an upgrade requirement by accessing "LILWY: Configuration" under the Powers menu (there are no upgrade requirements by default). Potential upgrade requirements include various sized souls. More specifically, petty, lesser, common, greater, grand, black (which are contained within soul gems) and even dragon souls.

Compatibility
This mod is compatible with any mod that edits the base game unique leveled items. However, this mod is incompatible with any mod that completely replaces the base game unique leveled item forms. Fortunately, no mod should do this, and therefore this mod should prove to be widely compatible.
This mod only affects the unique leveled items found in the base game, which have been identified on this wiki page. Therefore, patches will be necessary for any mod that adds any unique leveled items to the game. Fortunately, this should include a very small number of mods. I can't think of any myself, so feel free to let me know if you find one. While this mod won't affect any unique leveled item added by other mods (without a patch), it should still be otherwise compatible.
Included Patches
No links exist between the unfilled and filled variants of the petty, lesser, common and greater soul gems in the base game. This means that the papyrus scripting engine will be unable to determine whether these soul gems are filled. This mod fixes this (in the case of soul gems filled with souls equivalent to their capacity). While the Unofficial Skryim Special Edition Patch (USSEP) also fixes this issue, this won't cause any conflicts.
While technically not a patch, you are given one of seven random variants of the Amulet of Articulation at the completion of the Thieves Guild quest Under New Management in the base game. The Amulet of Articulation is instead made a leveled item with the USSEP (with the level requirements 8, 15, 22, 29, 36 and 43). This mod treats the Amulet of Articulation as a leveled item with these level requirements. Therefore, even if the USSEP is not installed, the Amulet of Articulation will still level with you. The only difference will be that if you have the USSEP installed, you will be given a variant reflective of your level at the time, rather than a random variant. Therefore, the USSEP is not required for this feature to function.
Limitations
Due to limitations imposed by the papyrus scripting engine, the mod is unable to determine whether an underfilled soul gem contains a soul (e.g. if a common soul is contained within a grand soul gem). Therefore, only soul gems filled with souls equivalent to their capacity can be read by the mod (e.g. a grand soul contained within a grand soul gem). This issue extends to Azura's Star and The Black Star, as the papyrus scripting engine is unable to determine whether they are filled with any sized soul.
Unique leveled items are replaced when they are upgraded. Therefore, any loss of weapon charge will be restored when they are upgraded. This is because the papyrus scripting engine does not allow for the manipulation of weapon charge. I feel that this potential gain in weapon charge can be more than compensated for through applying upgrade requirements.

Future Plans
Once SkyUI (and therefore the Mod Configuration Menu) is released, I'll move the configuration menu (currently accessible through the Powers menu) to MCM.
I'll also look at adding options for the user to define the level requirements for the unique leveled item variants. While this could technically be implemented through the Powers menu equivalent, the base game message box system would only allow for a rather clunky implementation.
