About this mod
Vampires Masquerade aims to make vampires nearly indistinguishable from normal beings, making it more immersive to masquerade as a vampire
- Permissions and credits
After turning into a vampire, your character will retain their normal eyes and they won't get the ugly red line, however their skin will be slightly lighter than the lightest skin possible for their race, so as to give the quote "skin as pale as the snow" some credibility, and their face will be gaunt (no idea how to change that, nor do I see a reason to)
Also, NPCs got the same treatment, I did give some black eyes as a reminiscent to vanilla vampires (before Dawnguard). NPCs that do not usually engage in combat (e.g Harkon and his court) will also lack elongated fangs, but hostile Vampires will have elongated fangs, I like to think of it that Vampires' fangs elongate when angry. The player character will still have elongated fangs, but that doesn't matter because you almost never see your character's teeth anyway.
NOTE: My mod doesn't edit Argonian or Khajiit vampires. Their eyes and skin look okay, and for the fangs you can use this mod: Beast Race Vampire Fang Removal
Optional files:
- No Vampiric Comments: This file makes NPCs stop saying "Your skin is as pale..." and "Don't like those eyes...". It doesn't require the main file, so you can use it without using the mod itself
- Imperious Patch: This is a compatibility patch for Imperious - Races of Skyrim. Load after both mods.
- Ethereal Elven Overhaul Patch: This is a compatibility patch for Ethereal Elven Overhaul. Load after both mods.
- Combat Gameplay Overhaul Patch: This is a compatibility patch for Combat Gameplay Overhaul. Load after both mods.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with vampire overhauls including Sacrosanct, Better Vampires and Sacrilege.
- Compatible with Better Vampire NPCs. Use the NAC version, and load my mod after it to avoid black face issues
- Compatible with Fangs and Eyes. Load my mod after it to avoid black face issues. However note that NPC vampires won't get the improved fangs.
- It also doesn't affect Vampiric Argonians or Khajiits, thus it's compatible with any mod that modifies them.
- If you want to use my mod but found it's incompatible with another, please don't hesitate to report, I can quickly make a compatibility patch.
- For mods that edit Serana or Harkon's appearance, load them after my mod if you want their changes instead of mine, and vice versa
- This mod is somewhat compatible with Racemenu. Racemenu already prevents your character's appearance from changing when a vampire, but it will also prevent their skin from becoming lighter. However this is an insignificant problem. While it may mean that Racemenu makes my mod pointless, my mod also edits NPCs, which Racemenu doesn't. So you can consider Racemenu to be a "Player only" alternative to my mod (that is, of course, alongside its other various features)
Changelog:
- Minor edits regarding some NPCs, for example Garan Marethi now looks older, and more hostile Vampires now have bloodshot eyes
