I don't like feeling obligated to sleep in a game, but I do enjoy being benefited if I do!
In addition to the standard experience boost benefit, you will receive:
Regen increase on all basic stats Health, Magicka and Stamina by 5% / 10% / 15% and all stats increase by 5 / 10 / 15 depending on the buff received (Rested, Well Rested and Lover's Comfort)
A stimulus that significantly benefits and increases your immersion without invading or forcing you to do so.
Hint: Sleeping in caves or places that are not you home or an inn will only give you the rested bonus
