"I've always dreamed of playing Skyrim as a Pokémon game."
- Actually Nobody said this

Once upon a time, someone on the internet said mod authors are a mix of drug addicts and mad scientists.
I took that personally. And thus, I present my latest concoction:

"Su-Mon: Capture and Train"

Ever wanted to capture every NPC in Skyrim and turn them into your loyal squad? No? Well, now you can! This mod lets you "Pokémon-ify" Skyrim by capturing and training up to 6 NPCs at a time. And yes, ANY NPC! Dragons? Check. Demons? Check. Savos Aren? Sure, why not! The only rule? If it's flagged as a ghost (not an actual ghost, but game-flagged ones), it's off-limits because you can’t hit it with a spell. If you can hit it, you can get it!

This mod includes:
  • 2 Spells
  • 1 Lesser Power
  • An incredibly lightweight ESL file with only 226 records (because efficiency matters, even in chaos).

THE SPELLS:

To obtain the spells, locate the book "Su-Mon: Understanding Summoning" in any spell vendor with 50+ Conjuration ability. Here's what you'll get:

Su-Mon: Binding: The power to capture your target. It might fail, but don't worry—you can tweak probabilities in the MCM menu (aka cheat). Capture chance depends on the target's health and level. Stronger, healthier NPCs are harder to capture. Pro tip: whack 'em a little before you try.

Su-Mon: Calling: Summon your captured companions to the battlefield. It's as easy as shouting "I choose you!" but less dramatic.

Su-Mon: Check Status: A lesser power that shows your mon's current health, stamina, magicka, and level. Basically, it’s a stats screen, because even dragons need performance reviews.

SOUL BINDING IS PERMANENT

Once you’ve captured an NPC, they’re yours forever. Why? Because the code for releasing them would bug out so hard, it’s better to lock ‘em in for life. Think of it as long-term commitment… like Pokémon, but with more existential dread.

Captured NPCs act like followers, but without follower dialogue or any connection to vanilla follower quests. This makes them fully compatible with follower overhauls. Essentially, your Su-Mons are summoned creatures that happen to look like, well, anyone you want.

LEVELING UP YOUR SU-MONS

Your captured companions follow two *simple* formulas to determine their experience gain and when they’re ready to level up:

Gaining experience formula:

Experience needed for the next level:

L = Level of the killed target
bh = Health of the target
Lp = Level of the mon

Final Thoughts

This mod is the perfect mix of chaotic fun and strategic gameplay. Whether you want to build an army of dragons, lead a squad of Jarl impostors, or just see what happens when you capture a unique NPC like Heimskr, "Su-Mon: Capture and Train" has you covered. Gotta catch ‘em all, right?
