This weapon mod is largely inspired by OmninousVoice's Heart of Thunder mod.
It is a modded Steel War Axe that grants the player god-like powers and abilities.
The Thunder Axe grants the following effects:
- Increased Health
- Increased Magicka
- Increased Stamina
- Increased Carry Weight capacity
- Powerful active effects (Power of Thunder)
The Thunder Axe grants the following abilities:
Thunderward - An ability that creates a ward that protects the player from melee, ranged, and magic attacks by simply trying to block with the Thunder Axe. (Will not activate when using a shield or a different weapon).
Thunderfist - Grants the player increased unarmed damage with a shocking effect.
Thundershot - Power attacking will shoot lightning from the Thunder Axe to where the player is aiming. The lightning can also bounce off surfaces and still hit nearby enemies. Chain lightning can occur whenever other enemies are near the intended target.
Thunderblast - Power attacking will cause a thunderous explosion that can cause great damage to anyone or anything near the player.
Thunderstorm - The player can call a storm for a certain period of time, and lightning coming from the sky will hit enemies that is near the player. This ability needs an open sky to take effect.
Thunderspeed - Grants the player increase movement/running/swimming/sneaking speed.
Thunderleap - Grants the player a powerful jumping ability.
Thunderball - Power attacking will shoot a ball of thunder and lightning to where the player is aiming and will cause a shocking explosion upon impact damaging surrounding enemies/NPCs.
Thunderstrike - Power attacking will shoot a powerful thunderbolt on a target.
How to acquire
It is easily acquired during the beginning of the game where the player would choose who to go with (Ralof or Hadvar).
- If the player decided to go with Ralof, upon entering Helgen Keep,the player can acquire the Thunder Axe by opening a blue chest that is near Gunjar's dead body.
- If the player decided to go with Hadvar, upon entering Helgen Keep, the player can acquire the Thunder Axe by opening a blue chest that is right across the room, opposite to where the Warden's Chest is.
- When the Thunder Axe is acquired from either one of the two chests, the other chest will disappear, preventing the player from acquiring two Thunder Axes.
Basic Mechanics
1. Powers and some abilities granted by the Thunder Axe are automatically acquired whenever the weapon is present in the player's inventory. Equipping the Thunder Axe is not necessary.
2. Powers and abilities granted by the Thunder Axe can only disappear if the weapon is no longer in the player's inventory. Merely unequipping the weapon, or switching to another weapon will not remove the powers and abilities granted by the Thunder Axe.
3. Abilities like Thunderball, Thunderblast, Thundershot, and Thunderstrike, will be granted whenever the player decides to equip the Thunder Axe.
4. Thunderspeed's effect would still remain if the player hasn't stopped their movement after its set time duration. The player could neutralize Thunderspeed's effect by stopping for a few seconds, or by moving forward and toggling the sprint button.
5. To leap across the map with Thunderleap, simply jump while while running forward.
Suggestions
1. The weapon is very powerful even in the early stages of the game. I suggest you play at Legendary mode
2. To extend leaping range of Thunderleap, installing Better Jumping SE can increase momentum by allowing the player to jump while sprinting, as the game by default does not allow jumping while sprinting. Simply sprint forward and then jump, while still holding on to move forward. This allows the player to traverse the map with ease and continuity, minimizing the need for fast travel, if one chooses to do so.
3. Updates to the Thunder Axe sometimes don't take effect. Try to drop the Thunder Axe and then pick it up again to refresh its effects.
