About this mod
Edits the unused vanilla spell Spectral Arrow, removing stagger and making it phase through objects and walls.
Hand placed into the world and optionally given to some enemies through SPID.
An alternative version only edits the spell, for use with Cutting Room Floor or Skyrim Cut Content Restoration.

I stumbled upon this really fun mod that makes bound arrows phase through obstacles, hitting the first NPC in their way.
What if this fun mechanic could be a little better balanced around the vanilla game? Enter the unused Conjuration spell spectral arrow.
This simple ESL-flagged plugin removes the stagger effect and modifies the projectile into a phasing one. The stagger is either OP in a vanilla game, or a mess to get right in a modded game with so many combat mods that redo and rebalance the stagger mechanics.
Gameplay
Now you have a reason to use the various detect living/dead spells in order to see enemies through walls. Pair it with Magic Sneak Attacks by po3 for the ultimate mage-assassin experience! The vanilla spectral arrow is already a silent spell, even without the Silent Casting perk.

- You can install at any time. Flagged as ESL so it doesn’t take up a plugin slot.
- FOMOD installer with two versions to choose from.
- Optional SPID integration for some enemies to also get the spell.
- USSEP changes forwarded and compatible with all mods, probably. A patch for Infiltration - Quest Expansion is available.

Cutting Room Floor and Skyrim Cut Content Restoration restore the spell tome as the reward for the vanilla quest “Infiltration”, instead of a Detect Life tome.
The Standalone version restores the quest reward and places a tome of Detect Life in Treva's Watch boss room, so you can find both spells during "Infiltration". Another tome can be found inside the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, on the pedestal next to the stained glass. This way you can use it in the DB questline from the very start.
With SPID installed, the spell is given to the Dark Brotherhood mage, the spellsword boss (Southfringe Sanctum), Malyn Varen (Azura's Star), and some Falmer Shamans. Some of these enemies have a chance to drop the spellbook as well. Provided as is without much testing.
