This mod adds the apprentice-level spell Lesser Detect Dead.
Why? Because I have an Alteration skill under 75 and I just killed 84 wolves and I'm not interested in searching through tall grass, behind rocks, and at the bottom of hills for their corpses for an hour and a half, in the dark, while wondering if Skyrim cleaned up the bodies or if maybe they fell through the world somehow. That's why.
I can't imagine nobody has thought to add such a spell in another mod already, but this is a standalone version.

Installation
Just auto-install with Mod Organizer or Vortex.
This mod is an ESL-flagged ESP.
Details
- The spell detects nearby corpses, but does not detect undead friends or enemies.
- The spell detects ash piles too, as long as any other actors are present within spell range. (Req. Papyrus Extender, and FLM for FEC ash piles.)
- The radius is a bit larger than Detect Dead and the magicka cost and tome value are 1/3rd of Detect Dead.
- The spell has the VendorItemBook and VendorItemSpellTome keywords, so it might appear in vendor inventories, randomly.
- If you are playing with Odin installed, the spell tome should be distributed to vendors/chests along with similar tomes. (Req. FLM)
- You'll also find that Farengar in Dragonsreach owns a copy, which you can either steal or purchase with PSDI.
- You can also obviously give yourself the spell tome in the console: help "lesser detect dead" to get the ID and player.additem [ID] 1.
- The spell tome is transcribable, if Transcribe Spells - Convert Known Spells to Tomes is installed. (Req. FLM)
