I was inspired by a book called An Explorer's Guide to Skyrim, a book that reveals the location of a few star stones on the map. I was doing a smithing challenge where I could only wear armour that I made.  Knowing the location of the mines would be very useful for this challenge and I wondered if there was a vanilla book that did a similar thing for mines but sadly there is not so I did my best to make one.

The mod will add 5 books to the game, each will reveal the location of up to 5 mines. With 5 volumes to collect, they are scattered around Skyrim, mostly in mines, but a few locations that are relevant to smithing. A couple of volumes can be found where all books are found.

Just to be clear the books only add map markers for pre-existing mines.

The first volume is easiest to find, especially for any starting character that is interested in mining. Each Volume leads to the next. There are multiple copies of each book.

Compatibility:
The biggest potential compatibility issue is I've added a few map markers into the game which may clash with city edits, Dawnstar and Markarth specifically.
Also where the books have been placed in the world may clash with edits to the same cells from another mod. But with just an esp it's quite light weight so shouldn't be much of an issue. Let me know If you have issues I may fix them.

...So it has come to my attention by trying to search for this mod that it has more or less been created before, I did look before I created my mod but didn't find what i was looking for. Anyway I havn't tried it my self but you should take a look at:
