A few days ago i was intrigued by the mod The Dead Bard of Dead Man's Drink, because I'll need skeletons that use human animations in the future. However I noticed that the animations cause a few issues - feet below the ground, calves detached from thighs, stuff like that. I had a look around Nexus, and custom races that work better have been done, but usually with closed permissions, so I decided to do it myself.
I chopped up, resized and repositioned the vanilla skeleton mesh to fit to the human (male) body, and let Outfit Studio do it's magic. The result is a skeleton that plays human animations without the aforementioned issues.
The included plugin (flagged ESL) shows how to set up the Armor Addons, Skin and Race. You can either use it directly or just as a template.
It's a custom race with custom adjusted meshes - does NOT affect vanilla skeletons.
Known Limitations: I only did this for the male body. Animations for females work fine, but the glowing eyes are in the wrong spot. You can still use it without the glow by removing the AbSkeleton spell from the race. I also haven't made first person meshes (hence non-playable), since I won't need that, but anyone is free to use my meshes as a base for that.
