About this mod
Adds 30+ lore friendly and immersive outfits from Sforzinda's Imitations armor mashup without other features from that mod. ESL flagged so it does not take up a load order slot. Great for lore friendly, vanilla+ playthroughs
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
You get 30+ lovely, lore friendly armor outfits based on vanilla mashups (with many many variations). All armors are craftable, temperable, and some require vanilla quest progression to craft. Full documentation and preview of the armor are on sforzinda's tumblr
This should be great for adding a little variety to your Skyrim and make Tamriel feel a little bit more (dare I say) immersive. Screenshots welcome
What are the changes?
I removed the following:
- All world edits
- All NPC additions (goodbye Raymond)
- The new crafting system and crafting books and custom ingredients. Instead of using the custom Netch leather strips and linen strips, I've replaced them in all the recipes with the closest equivalent of standard Netch Leather or Tundra Cotton (bit of a judgement call here)
- All the "unarmored" versions of items that were clearly armor (this was mostly to save on mod size so this could be turned into an ESPFE)
- All the custom recycle recipes (there's other mods for that!)
- All leveled lists (the original mod did NOT distribute the armors to NPCs. These leveld lists were only for the custom merchant AFAIK)
Other edits:
- Imitations includes a huuuge number of armor variations that could be crafted using the custom crafting system in the original mod. For example, you could "Refine" an armor and give it a new bonus under some conditions. Given that I removed the custom crafting system, these variation recipes are now available in the typical Forge
- I fixed a few recipes that appeared to create the wrong armor variation
- Flagged as ESL (converted to espfe)
Why make this version?
I personally think the mashups are lovely, but the mod also contained a large number of features that I personally did not feel were necessary for the enjoyment of the mod: an entirely new crafting system, a number of quests mechanics to access the armor mashups, world edits, and a new NPC. Given the sizeof the mod, it also could never be flagged as an ESP-FE.
I wanted to see if I could strip out extraneous content. My hope is that this mod can now be a no brainer for anyone looking to add some variety of clothing and armor in the world.
How do I install this mod?
1. Download and install sforzinda Imitations from their tumblr!
2. Install this ESP replacer mod and put it after Imitations in your load order. It should replace the ESP included with the original mod
3. (Recommended) Download and install/merge the USSEP patch that's in the optional files. It just forwards USSEP changes to a couple armor sets in Imitations that override vanilla armor sets.
4. (Recommended) Install the CBBE patch from Nexus and run BodySlide
5. (Optional) the packaged BSAs in the original sforzinda imitations seem to still work with the ESP replacer, but you may want to just unpack them and strip out the misc script and seq files since they're not needed anymore.
Cool, what do I use this for?
Spice up your Skyrim! Personally, I'm plan on using this with SPID to distribute these outfits. Or just make your own character look dope as hell.
Changelog
-v0.5: Updated crafting recipes for "Refined" versions of the armor to use the Forge rather than Armor Smithing Table. I'm a noob and did not realize this would break tempering originally. Should be safe to update.
-Release v0.1: Initial release. TBH has not been tested extensively so feedback and bug reports are welcome although the edits should be relatively straightforward. My next set of plans will involve creating an SPID extension to distribute the armors, but I don't know when I'm going to get to that honestly.
Permissions from sforzinda:
All of the assets created by me are open-permissions to use, modify, and upload, given that any other work derived from them will include full credits, will carry over the same permissions, and will not be used in any paid or donation-only mods.
For assets that use other people’s works, permission is not entirely mine to give, and you should also check permissions for the original mods linked in the credit sections.
Please do not re-host my mods on other platforms (such as Nexus, or Bethesda.net for PCs) in their entirety, as I prefer they remain in one place only. You can link to their respective pages for directing users.
Thank-you and enjoy!
