Windhelm Bridge Revived
The Windhelm bridge in vanilla Skyrim looks terribly unfinished and empty. This mod aims to give the bridge a sorely needed visual update. As the main entrance into the city, it is also an important place to defend well.
~ Features ~
New guardhouse located at the bridge underpassage
New additional architecture pieces like stone trims and arches to cover up ugly vanilla holes
Finally some stairs on the main entrance, with wooden ramps for carts
Realistic fortifications & battlements to the upper platforms, with extra doors and portcullises on archways
8 new guards, Stormcloak/Imperial that patrol the upper and lower levels of the bridge. Half of them are on day shift and the other on night shift. During their break they will rest at the guardhouse.
Faction related items like banners and armours that change with the civil war
Additional occlusion planes to help with draw calls & FPS
~ Compatibility ~
This mod is inherently incompatible with other mods that extensively overhaul the bridge. This mod does not make landscape edits, and only tweaks existing vanilla navmesh. This mod only touches the bridge itself, other mods that overhaul areas around it like the docks and stables are compatible. Feel free to make your own compatibility patches.
Optional Addons:
Windhelm Fence 3D: Standalone, I still recommend the original mod to cover all fences
Snowy bridge mesh replacer: Requires Base Object Swapper. Swaps the stairs and bridge to a snowy version. Mesh is based on Lux Orbis.
Wooden Roofs: Restores the wooden roofs from older versions of the mod
Less Guards: Halves the guard amount from 8 to 4 (2 guards resting, 2 patrolling)

~ Installation ~
Simply install with mod manager like any other mod. It is advised to install this mod on a new game. Do not uninstall mid-game.
