Hello! this mod works! but my controls are kinda messed up and i cant really change them since all the SteamVR control names are... changed Im using a Valve Index with Vive Wands. It fixes alot of things but the controls are really confusing me.
this fixes a major issue i was having, which was the stutter while walking (input smoothing fixed that) but this also introduces a massive stutter issue when i look around, anytime i turn my head with this dll replacer there is massive stutters
using alvr on linux mint with an rtx a2000, with the default openvr dll there is no stutters when looking around
Having come back to use this after a couple of years, controllers no longer work in SkyrimVR with this branch, or the standard OpenComposite official branch. Either something in Windows Update has broke it, or a Meta update has broke it. Quest 3, Virtual Desktop + VDXR.
I have solved my own issue and I'm unsure of what causes it, but I tried absolutely everything and the fix ended up being just enter passthrough mode with the game open, then go back in-game. Your controllers should now be functioning properly.
Another workaround you can try, is at the main menu screen before going into your save. If your controllers don't work, use your keyboard arrow keys to go down to the VR Controllers settings menu, then use the left / right arrow keys to set them to disabled, then re-enable them. In a lot of cases, this also fixes them.
Double-tapping the side of the headset to enter passthrough is much faster than having to navigate to the keyboard each time. Upon further testing, this does not happen with the old Oculus specific branch of OC.
Just wanted to report using this, or the latest branch of OC results in a flicker in the right eye, as well as massive frame hitches and stutters when using Virtual Desktop and VDXR. Reverting to the age-old Oculus only branch, this does not happen, but the controllers will be massively unaligned. Likely an issue with VD, but it seems it is no longer usable if this is what you prefer to use. Quest 3.
I have an odd issue that I haven't been able to find a solution for.
I am using a quest 3, with virtual desktop and the VDXR runtime. I am currently running Ashok0's Enderal VR modlist, and everything is working great as far as launching and gameplay. However, about 10-20 minutes into gameplay, the game crashes with a dll error stating "Unsupported apptype 3"
Everything else works great, super smooth gameplay, great clarity, no stutters or lag spikes. The crash doesn't seem to be triggered by anything in particular either. Sometimes it happens when I cast a spell, sometimes when I load a new cell, sometimes when an enemy uses a particle effect. It's never consistent. Here is my open composite log from the crash. Thank you for any help you can provide!
Do you have a screenshot from the PC side what you should see when this works? When I drop the dll in the Skyrim VR folder and run sksevr_loader.exe, it just seems to run Steam VR instead of OpenComposite. Thanks
If you are using MO2, your root folder may be overwritten at runtime. You can instead try to make a separate empty Mod and have the new openvr_api.dll in there, set to overwrite in the root folder instead of the data folder, and just enable it that way.
Hello! I am using this mod within the FUS modlist. When I launch with this enabled, I see that my right peripheral view is just black. The right side just simply has a black spot around the edge. The problem is that when I turn this mod off, my fps drops to 5. What is causing this? It only happens when I enable this mod. Thanks for any help. Sorry for the late response. What headset are you using? I wonder if it's a problem with the Hidden Area Mesh not being sized properly. You could try setting enableHiddenMeshFix=false
Or maybe fully disabling bUseHiddenAreaMesh in your skyrim ini conf.
Awsome fix im so glad this exists!!! I finally got skyrim working with open composite on virtuall desktop and all of my important skse mods work fine!! I have a question though I dont see keyboardText in my opencomposite.ini, can I just add the line in? should I add it at the top or bottom?
When I do do it I get the error "unknown config option keyboardText line 12" and the game wont start, this is my ini: adjustTilt=false tilt=0.0 enableAudioSwitch=false audioDeviceName= hapticStrength=0.1 enableInputSmoothing=false inputWindowSize=5 leftDeadZoneSize=0.0 rightDeadZoneSize=0.0 disableTriggerTouch=false disableTrackPad=false keyboardText=Q10

Recently I am having trouble with the new Keyboard integration you applied into OpenCom, just freezes when I change my name now.
I found it so much easier having a predetermined name set up in the configuration settings file ie : keyboardText=Jay
I like to go back to this method, is there another ini command i can use to stop the keyboard call happening please ?
Thanks...
