About this mod
Batch file, console commands, and instructions for Xbox/PS to skip the flashback cutscene during the quest Alduin's Bane and give you Dragonrend. Use this if you have issues with the cutscene playing out right, or would just like to skip it.

The Elder Scroll flashback scene in Alduin's Bane is a really cool look back into the Merethic Era of Tamriel, and a testament to the might of the Tongues of old. It's also a buggy piece of crap that loves to bug out and softlock your game sometimes, and that's just on vanilla. I legitimately don't remember the last time I've managed to get that scene to work with mods. For all of you who have similar issues with this cutscene: worry no longer, for I have the solution:
Included here are a batch file, the commands from the batch file, and a method for Xbox SE players to do this. Not sure if there's any capability to do something like this on PS4/5 or not, but if there is, let me know and I'll make sure it's noted here. I've included the commands here because a batch file for two commands is a bit silly (it was seven commands before I was smartened up to what stage 70 of this quest does.) The batch is still there if you want to stay a step ahead of any potential issues.
Batch file usage:
- Download and extract the "abskip" file into your Skyrim directory. (Skip if using the commands instead.)
- When you get to Alduin's Bane, proceed to reading the Elder Scroll at the Time-Wound.
- When the scene begins and the quest objectives update, hit ~ to enter the console and type "bat abskip"

4. Cutscene successfully skipped!Fix for Xbox:
Pick up the Quest Debugger mod. I've never used this, so I can't exactly give super detailed instructions on how to use it, but I have confirmation in two cases that this works. I do also have this relevant info you'll want for the fix:
Quest index # - 1876
Stages - 70, then 100
Potential fix for PS:
Pick up the mod "Shut Up, Ancient Heroes". It appears to work automatically, though I'd need testimony from a PS player to know if it properly works or not.
