Changelogs
Domenicus' Open Cities version of Surjamte's Capital Whiterun Expansion comes with a quite limited number of patches. In particular, there was no patch with the combined JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim patch, so I decided to change this. This collection includes several patches with this mod, and multiple patches with other mods that I felt were missing. Version 2.0 also includes a patch for Ryn's Whiterun City Limits and several patches for Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods.

Standalone patches:
  • AI Overhaul (moves some AI markers; not needed if using the AIO patch for JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim)
  • Bells of Skyrim (makes room for the bell and adjusts the navmesh)
  • Collision Box removal (removes redundant collision boxes when using meshes from Capital Whiterun Expansion - More Accurate Collision and Fixed Meshes for Capital Whiterun Expansion. Also includes a fix that makes a certain area in the JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim patch accessible when using these meshes)
  • G.I.R.T.H. - Gildergreen Is Really Thicc HD (adjusts positions of Gildergreen saplings to match the new model)
  • JK's The Drunken Huntsman (moves a neighbouring building that was bleeding into the balcony)
  • Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods (forwards LFfGM's fixes to the landscape under and around Whiterun to Capital Whiterun, and removes grass from objects placed in surrounding areas; base patch for the mods in the dedicated section)
  • Mini Addon - Base Object Swapper (Base Object Swapper version of Domenicus' Mini Addon for the Whiterun exterior. Needed for Compatibility with JK's The Drunken Huntsman)
  • Nature of the Wild Lands (adjusts placement or rescales trees to avoid clipping)
  • Ryn's Whiterun City Limits (add-on to the Capital Whiterun patch to handle navmesh and landscape conflicts with Open Capital Whiterun, and fix some navmesh issues with the original patch)
  • Seasonal Landscapes (adds seasonal form swaps to the only custom landscape mesh added by Open Capital Whiterun. You still need the patch for Capital Whiterun Expansion provided at the Seasonal Landscapes page, as well as the Open Cities patch at Jonado's Open Cities patches)
  • Skyrim Sewers (moves one manhole, resolves navmesh conflicts)
  • SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators (removes a fence and adjusts some plants to leave room for the dog)
  • Sounds of Skyrim (extends the acoustic space to the new districts)
  • JK's Skyrim + Dawn of Skyrim (overhauls large parts of the city; base patch for the mods in the dedicated section)
  • Ryn's Whiterun City Limits + Skyrim Sewers (resolves navmesh conflicts with the Ryn's Whiterun City Limits Sewers patch)

Landscape Fixes For Grass Mods patches:
  • Cutting Room Floor
  • Provincial Courier Service
  • Ryn's Whiterun City Limits
  • Ryn's Whiterun City Limits - Cutting Room Floor
Open Capital Whiterun - JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim patches:
  • AI Overhaul (adjusts some AI markers)
  • Bells of Skyrim (navmesh patch)
  • Blowing in the Wind (conflict resolution)
  • JK's The Bannered Mare (moves some clutter)
  • JK's The Drunken Huntsman (navmesh and conflict resolution)
  • Nature of the Wild Lands (conflict resolution and further tree adjustments)
  • Storefront (conflict resolution)
  • Skyrim Sewers + JK's The Drunken Huntsman (combined navmesh patch)

Several of the JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim patches simply resolve conflicts with the patches found at JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim Open Cities patches; thus a standalone patch is not relevant. The only such patch that could be relevant that I have not provided is for JK's The Bannered Mare, but I find its conflicts too minor to provide a patch for it (there may be some clipping, but it will not break anything).

Performance
Performance is decent, but you will clearly benefit from a graphics card with a lot of VRAM. At first, I was using a Radeon R9 380 with 4GB VRAM, but then I experienced stuttering in some areas, in particular with the JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim patch. After upgrading to a 3060 RTX with 12GB VRAM, the stuttering is essentially gone. My CPU is an overclocked quad-core i5 4690K. Regardless of which rig you are using, I recommend using my Open Cities optimisation additions file included in Jonado's Open Cities patches, for a slight performance boost.

Compatibility
The patches are mostly mutually compatible. The exception is that any combination of Skyrim Sewers, JK's The Drunken Huntsman, and JK's Skyrim + Dawn of Skyrim would require a patch. It would be too much work for me to create patches for all those combinations, so if you want a patch for another combination than what I have provided here, you would have to create your own (it should be fairly straightforward in the current version).

Installation
The standalone patches are mostly derived from More Capital Whiterun Expansion patches, so install the ones you need of these first. Other requirements are listed in the Requirements section. The FOMOD installer should be self-explanatory. Finally, make sure to follow the load order listed below.

The JK's Skyrim + Dawn of Skyrim patches require somohexual's fixed patch for the original Capital Whiterun Expansion (see mod requirements). While being mostly well-made, it requires some extra installation steps for a smooth gaming experience, else you will likely experience CTDs during the Civil War phase. Detailed instructions are provided at More Capital Whiterun Expansion patches.

Load order
My general take is to follow this load order:

  • Non-OCS patches
  • Open Cities Skyrim.esp
  • Non-Open Capital Whiterun OCS patches (also check the rules at JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim Open Cities patches)
  • Open Capital Whiterun.esp
  • Standalone Open Capital Whiterun patches
  • JK-DoS-CWrE-Open Cities.esp
  • Open Capital Whiterun - SkyTEST patch.esp
  • JK's Skyrim - Dawn of Skyrim - Open Cities patches

The provided modgroup files should assist further with the load ordering.

Special thanks to hishutup for the Open Cities patch script - without it making these patches would not be possible. Also thanks to robertgk2017 for teaching me how to clean up navmeshes.
