Changelogs
Version 1.0.1
Excluded guards and civil war soldiers from getting crossbows.
Version 1.0
The release version.
I wanted to make a simple mod that distributes crossbows to NPC's, while keeping the weapons somewhat uncommon in Skyrim, and SPID provided an excellent way to do that. This mod does not remove or replace anything, only add, so it should be compatible with everything.
This mod gives a 15% chance to any vanilla playable race NPC that has at least 25 skill in archery to receive a crossbow and ten bolts. The crossbow given will be at appropriate level, so you won't be finding the best weapons at low levels.
There's four versions to choose from. The full package includes the Creation Club content Expanded Crossbow Pack and Elite Crossbows. Two versions where only one of those two is required and lastly a vanilla version. All four require Rare Curios, but that is included in Skyrim these days so it shouldn't be a problem.
There is also an optional file that will give a rare chance for EXPLOSIVE and paralyzing bolts to be distributed. It can be obnoxious for enemies to be firing those at you, so I didn't include them in the main files.
