Sets Ancano to "Protected" instead of "Essential", allowing the player to kill him. Good for characters who like killing Thalmor on sight.
Similar to how it worked in Morrowind, killing this npc will basically break the entire questline. Hell, if it weren't for the "Restoration master ritual" quest, this mod could have been outsourced to a console command. Seriously, getting the Restoration Master Quest to function without doing the associated quest was 99% of the work I had to do for this.
Since the dialogue for the Restoration Master Quest doesn't show up without finishing "Good Intentions", I came up with a jank solution; You can buy a note for one gold from her after you get your Restoration skill to about 75 (Specifically I put it in the expert restoration levelled list, hopefully this won't cause issues?). This should unlock the Augur's door and start the quest - In all my testing, the door has never remained locked.
Known Issues:
The note might not be sold by Colette immediately upon hitting the required Restoration level. In this instance, find Colette's merchant chest (Vanilla refid: 98ba5) and use the command "resetinventory" (without parenthesis). This also might happen if you used console commands to directly put your restoration skill to 75 (Or I was just stupid during my own testing).
Additionally, starting the quest in this way may make it impossible to speak to the Augur (In fact, this only consistently occurred when I was using Obscure's College). A workaround, again, would be to use a console command:
I truly have no idea whether the questline will break if you decide to not kill Ancano with this mod. I didn't actually alter any of the main College questline, but given how small the mod is you can probably just disable it if you don't want to kill him, provided you haven't already. Also, his body might not despawn for a long time, but to my knowledge this is a vanilla issue. I guess just throw him into the sea of ghosts.
Compatibility
It did work with my normal load order, using a few College mods (Immersive College NPCs, Obscure's College of Winterhold, Bibliophile's Arcanaeum). It does alter the "LItemSpellTomes75AllRestoration" levelled list, but it only adds the note to start the Restoration Master Quest. It might not work with other mods that alter Ancano himself.
