About this mod
Music from a sock audio website and licensing platform in a package designed to be safer for Streaming Skyrim with new music without copyright claims....
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
-Almost all playlists exept some Solstheim lists got at least one track on each, with the most used ones getting several (up to 10 each)
-Removed my favorite track from the mod, as it was claimed by Youtube scammers even though it's listed as safe on Envato (rest in peace, Frozen Fjords)
-New music added to Taverns, The College, Exploration by the evening and other lists that got fewer tracks in the previous versions
-Secret tracks for Vampire Castle and Vampire Lord Battles
-Viking and shamanic themes around Morthal, Dawnstar and the Mountains, particularly by night and specially near snow
-Totemic Throath singing for the Miraak fight!
-Both Forests recieved some more love with the Rift getting a more european style music and Falkreath earning a more wild/witchcraft/flute vibe
-Versioned music that plays differently depending on context. The track "Predatorial", for instance, plays only it's drums on the civil war, has a version with more instruments in regular combat (beasts/bandits) AND a version with chants plays only when facing a Dragon
Again, I'm doing my best to make the lists SafeR, but with youtube copyright system being so aligned with claimants it's actually profitable for scammers, there's no way to make them actual safe for copyright-free use on Youtube. Only safe option for Youtube right now is to have no music at all.
IMPORTANT UPDATE AND APOLOGY: No longer copyright-safe for YOUTUBE
After several attempts, streams, tests and a few very angry e-mail exchanges with multiple stock music providers, I decided to make it clear that usage of YSFRAMOR does *NOT* make your streams and gameplay footage safe from copyright claims on Youtube, because it's entire Content ID system seems broken beyond repair and scammers got a hold of tracks that were made to not be Content ID'd and put them into the copyright system anyways.
So how the scammers operate is they look for popular tracks in stock website that will be used by many content creators, download those tracks and then present them at Yt's Content ID system as their own - a fraudulent claim with no proof. Then, anyone who licenses or uses said tracks is illegally flagged and YT currently has no system to effectively dismiss/fight those claims, requiring you to dispute the claim and wait several days, having your revenue stolen by the scammer and not given back during all this time.
Since the inception of YSFRAMOR I had exactly zero copyright claims on Twitch even after several streams, and multiple claims on every single VOD uploaded to youtube, for sometimes two or even three songs that I triple checked with stock providers was supposed to be free to use. It's an inherent flaw with YT's handling of the issue that scammers are profitting from and I can't suggest you use YSFRAMOR on Youtube with a clear conscience.
Again, I'm sorry.

OH, WHAT AM I SAYING? OF COURSE YOU DO
For years as a video editor and Youtuber I had to deal with the music industry, not giving artists a living wage but expecting Youtube and social media creators 100% of the revenues of videos where a tiny bit of their property played at 5% volume for half of a second. Now that I'm immersing myself in the world of streaming, the same scummy lawyers and C-level executives come again with the same bullshit against twitch streamers trying to make a living or just share their passion with friends.
The problem: While most Skyrim OST is safe to use on video, we've been hearing those tunes for 12 years and heavily infuenced by shows like History Channel's Vikings. So most music replacers on Nexus today have plenty throath singing and war drums, and not nearly enough legal protection under Fair Use...
(because most of those bands are represented by very scummy lawyers).
So you're there streaming you Skyrim adventures or making awesome videos for your community and then Content ID sh*ts doodoo on your day. It's not even about the few cents the video was making, it's the lingering hit on views and exposure that happens when multiple videos are claimed.
(yes, I know the name is stupid(ly funny). Yes, I felt good about myself coming up with that name.
This list is designed by a video editor to be 100x safer to use with content creation and streaming platforms, while bringing some Elder Scrolls fantasy sounding music back into Skyrim. We're talking 113 new tracks, including:
-Epic trailer-like tunes for mountains,
-Cozy little whimsical town scores,
-D&D druid feelz at forests,
-Celtic feasting sounds at taverns,
-(Slightly) scary night time exploration
- And yes, throat singing and viking war drums in combat.
There are even 2 (soon to be 3) tunes exclusive to the Civil war playlist - one more Legion-like and the other more tribal and cold-ish, to reflect the two sides fo the conflict.
Forgotten Vale now reflects the sadness and lost civility of the Snow Elves with soft, sad piano tunes.
Temples bring that otherworldly but still, dreamy and heartwarming feeling.
The playlist is WIP, but I deleted almost all candidates that required legal atribuition or cue sheets. This is also the reason why the pack doens't feature as much History Channel Viking's sounding tracks, as those are already licensed and above the paygrade of even small game studios. Truth is, this is not an error of Youtube or Twitch, but the entire Global copyright system that is as broken and changes as much as the load order of one of those bodyslide junkies.
For context, my personal favorite music replacer on the Nexus can have two to 5 segments of a 6-hour stream muted for copyright,
As a bonus, if you're an ENVATO/ENVATO ELEMENTS subscriber you're 100% safe and can drop your susbcriber status at any possible content claim to make them disappear like Thalmor sympathizers when the fight starts to get real. (Still true, Envato Elements Subs can dispute claims and as of v3, only Envato tracks remain.)
I'll continue testing and welcome testing and feedback from the community.
Just like the Original "Personalized Music" Mod, use MO or other Mod Managers when possible and avoid removing any mod mid-run
Whatever music mod is last in your load order takes preference. Testing with Yggdrasil, we took over all playlists except the Main Menu, an it was the first time I heard the Whiterun track in years. That said, you can re-add your favorite music into YSFRAMOR by placing and renaming them into the Personalized Music folder structure of the mod, totally defeating it's purpose and exposing yourself to transnational lawsuits by record labels. But if you don't stream or post videos on Youtube with your game, you should be good.
-The incredible No_Aardvarks_Allowed for PERSONALIZED MUSIC. You Rock, dude!
- Vektile, Rainstormwander, MoogieVT and the whole Modded Skyrim Twitch pikabongos, lovely souls and weirdos.
While uploading videos on Youtube with the tracks, myself and a few users ran into YOUTUBE copyright claims for some tracks. I'm already taking them out of the mod for next versions and will investigate the playlists further to see if any other tracks trigger Content ID on Youtube, which is currently the most restrictive system. Any tracks that trigger content ID will be deleted in the next version and, when possible, replaced. This is honestly the reason I made this and I'm glad I caught it this early, because Youtube Content ID is the most exposed system of them all and scummy scammers are flagging even the Original Soundtrack from Jeremy Soule sometimes, but also tracks that are 100% copyright-free and 100% not theirs.
Tracks are not triggering copyright claims on Twitch though. Zero. So version (v3) is safe for use on Twitch (and Youtube if you're an Envato Elements subscriber). V3 will be focused on taking those culprits out so that v4 can add some music specifically said to be excluded from YT Content ID monsters.
v3.1 had these changes applied:
1 track removed from the Explore-AllHours playlist (new track count: 11)
1 track removed from the Explore-Mountain playlist (new track count: 1)
1 track removed from the Combat-All playlist (new track count: 9)
2 trcks removed trom Town-Day Playlist (new track count: 7)
Total track count in v3.1: 79 tracks. Let's see what else youtube scammers steal.
v3 had these changes applied:
7 tracks removed from the Dungeons-All playlist (new track count: 5)
1 track removed from the Explore-Night playlist (new track count: 10)
6 tracks removed from the Castles playlist (new track count: 2) (including 1 track not flagged but belonging to a "flagged" artist)
2 tracks removed from the Town-Day playlist (new track count: 9) (2 of my favorites too :/)
3 tracks removed from the Combat-All list (new track count: 10)
3 tracks removed from the Tavern-All list (new track count: 6)
1 track removed from the Explore-AllAreas playlist (new track count: 1)
2 tracks removed from the Explore-AllHours list (new track count: 12)
This should cover all the tracks recently flagged. That said, as with everything related to copyright, the sands shift constantly, so if any music featured in YSFRAMOR gets you a copyright claim (they should NEVER cause you a strike) I can't help you get your monetization back from the claimed video unless you are an ENVATO subscriber but I'll axe the track from the list if you report it to me.
