Helps even out the difference between normal NPCs and bosses in Ultimate Boss Fight Mod by dynamically altering damage output of bosses depending on level.

I really enjoy the phases, creativity, and variety added to bosses with Ultimate Boss Fight Mod.. but I found it difficult to properly balance the drastic difficulty difference between these bosses and normal NPCs. Increase your damage output to give yourself a better chance, and you one shot everything else. Decrease damage done to you and you can handle bosses better, but other NPCs feel like they tickled you with a feather. Some might tell me to "git gud", as UBFM is inspired by Dark Souls, and they are probably right.. ;) but I want the difficulty difference between normal NPCs and bosses to be noticeable, yet not so vast, while preserving the coolness of UBFM.
So, here is my fix:
Using SPID, two perks are distributed to all NPCs in UBFM. One effects spell damage (magnitude, specifically), the other affects attack damage, but changes are the same and dynamic depending on the boss's level:
Boss Level Damage Reduction
1-9.....................................70%
10-19..................................55%
20-29..................................40%
30-34..................................25%
35-39..................................10%
40+.............................No Change
Keep in mind that the percentages are damage reduction, so bosses that are levels 1-9 will do 30% of their normal damage. This may sound drastic if you haven't used UBFM, but those bosses hit extremely hard. In my testing this still keeps a very good gap between normal npc and boss difficulty.. but this may fluctuate depending on your mod list.
No more going to Bleak Falls Barrow, fighting your first boss, and getting one shot by a lightning spell at level 2.
Lastly, I edited a magic effect distributed to bosses that gives them major damage resistance. Now it does nothing. I've found that their health increases and other effects still allow them to be tanky enough without the need of that effect. This can't be done with SPID, so is done with my .esp (esl flagged).
No more going to Bleak Falls Barrow, fighting your first boss, and having every hit only do 1 damage.
Installation
- Install SPID and Ultimate Boss Fight Mod + requirements.
- Download and install my mod.
- Make sure this mod's .esp is sorted after BossNames.esp. Should sort fine with LOOT.
- Have fun!
