An awkward but endearing dark mage follower with a mad scientist bent. Unique-voiced with an intro quest, discoverable formulas, unique potions, custom spells, wacky and weird summoned allies, darkly humorous. Full featured follower that is esl flagged.

Changelogs
Version 1.0.4
General
- This is a focus of improvements to Elana across the board with a new feature or two.
- For those making addons to her, you'll need to sync up her base actor record. One perk and one spell was added.
- In inventory, her imbued gems are just shorted to "Gem" (instead of Imbued Gem) and have their designation in parenthesis after the object, so that you can make sure you only have one of each type (Healing, Damage, Protection, Summon).
- Touched up her makeup slightly to give it more emphasis.
- Increased Elana's Relationship "Points" required to get to max relationship to 700 (to be in line with my other offerings). Doesn't affect anything if you're maxed out with her, otherwise will increase your current range slightly. There are more ways to acquire relationship with the addition of Forbidden Knowledge, below.
- At the end of the Intro Quest, the player has the choice of recruiting her (if there's room in the party) or telling her you have some other things to finish up (or that you have no room if you are full). She will always mention she stays in Riften, no matter what you choose.
- All of her quests now complete all objectives, if any, when finished.
Combat
- Elana has minimum level of 5 (down from 8).
- She now works in medium/long (versus far) range. Her Darkbolt spell now has a significantly smaller range (4096 units), which keeps her a bit closer to the player and to targets.
- Darkbolt's Magic Resistance debuff is now resisted versus fire and it's debuff is reduced to 7 Magic Resistance, but can stack within a 4 second window if the target is hit again with Darkbolt.
- She now has a baseline spell, Essence Leech, that does damage similar to flames but can absorb magicka. Magicka cannot be aborbed from constructs. Has custom effect nif. This does identical damage to flames but also drains 6 Magicka.
- Deadly Vermin's effects tweaked so that friendly fire towards guards and bystanders should have a lower chance to cause chaos.
- All hostile spells either require Elana to be a teammate and the opponent hostile to the player OR Elana isn't a teammate. Hopefully this will reduce bystander aggression.
- Darkbolt requires Destruction skill 25 and Nether Cloak requires 40 (up by 5). She will always use Essence Leech. This should be less OP for low level characters hitting Bleak Falls. Doesn't affect spells based on Formulas.
- Elana's spell rollout from formulas is now solely script driven. She still has the spells but doesn't physically cast them. This keeps her from overwriting strong spells causing weird casting loops if more than one gem or valid materials are in her satchel.
- Her spell rollout is now cached to a 4-item array, using the best spell in each category. This is significantly faster. Cache is built on game load, opening her satchel or finding new formulas.
- Many of her spell effects have had their appearance touched up. Spells are now cast with purple-blue light in hands. Deadly Vermin cause purple explosions.
- Optimized and improved combat scripting.
Quests
- Elana's Intro quest can now be completed if Bleak Falls Barrow is completely changed or you're using a container overhaul that changes them. If the urn (containing the soul gem) or the first chest (containing the rabbit legs) doesn't exist, those items are instead spawned in the boss chest. The boss chest uses a chest based on the chest found in the dungeon.
- Intro Quest all items are separate objectives. This is more streamlined.
- Intro Quest, the formula now goes into Elana's inventory.
Formulas and Encounters
- Valid formula locations are now added to a "visited" list as the player enters those locations. This should keep formulas from randomly seeding where they weren't present before within a short timeframe. The visited list now holds up to 200 locations. This is not anti-cheese as much as removing erratic behavior of leaving an area then returning shortly later to have a formula just pop-up.
- Necromancer spawns changed for lower level players. There is a 40% chance they will spawn. This is a minimum of 2 with a 50% chance of 1 additional if the player is higher than level 9, 50% chance of 1 additional if higher than 14 and 50% chance of 1 additional of higher than 19.
- Necromancers no longer have armor spell nor boost to frost damage and are 90% of the player's level. This should make them a bit easier to handle. They no longer follow the player outside of interiors, if possible.
- There is an option under the behavior sub menu for toggling off Necromancer spawns, if they are interfering with your game.
Dialogue and Idles
- Many combat and miscellaneous lines are given cooldowns to reduce repetitiveness.
- Idles are all now given a slight percent chance so that they are randomized more. Flirty and romantic lines are have the chance of normal lines.
- Added several new dungeon idle lines.
- Huge overhaul on the more generic lines to give them more of Elana's colorful flair and style. Interacting with her should feel freshened up.
- Added dozens of new combat lines.
- Reduced chance and added timeout to some combat lines. Rattling them off too much.
- (+) indicators removed from topics and instead descriptive words are used, such as (Quest) or (Features).
- Restructured dialogue options so almost everything shows under her Talk (Features) menu. Opening her Satchel is now inside this menu. Wear inventory is now under an Appearance sub menu. There is also a Behavior sub menu for more set and forget options.
- "How are you doing? Any thoughts?" now shows on the main dialogue for Elana if it is actively ready (it has a cooldown) or your relationship rank is less than 3 with her. After max relationship with her, it disappears.
- "I'm not sure about searching for all of these ingredients." or the "cheat mode" is now on the main dialogue and you can opt in or out. I think this makes it more obvious for those new to playing with Elana that if hunting for ingredients isn't your cuppa, you can turn it off. Once it is used, it disappears from the main dialogue.
Feature, Wigs and Jewelry
- You can now give her wigs and jewelry that have their own separate containers. She will periodically change into multiple wigs or jewelry. She can offer to add some wigs she likes first time you talk to her about the wigs. You can use any wigs or jewelry from other mods.
Feature, Forbidden Knowledge
- Elana now has a Forbidden Knowledge that opens once you help her discover at least 6 formulas. She accrues Knowledge Points by finding Tomes of Dark Secrets on defeated enemies and when she experiments at an alchemy station. Both situations give her 1-4 points. This was created to give her long-term progression even when completing her initial content. She receives a small amount of relationship points in either situation.
- Elana will hint at this via an idle comment when she reaches 6 formulas.
- Tomes can be looted from enemies defeated by the player, Elana or any teammates. Usually valid enemies must be decent with Destruction, Alteration or Conjuration magic but there is a chance it can drop from any humanoid. If a slain opponent has a Dark Secrets Tome, their body will glow with purple wisps. There is a rolling chance of Tomes dropping, starting at 15%, with a timeout between drops.
- When you have acquired one or more Tomes, on the main dialogue you can give them all to her. Trade dialogue doesn't apply here and it's signifcantly faster to use this option. Once used, they become "read" and can be sold for gold. She will comment about it when you exit the dialogue.
- For every 3 points in Forbidden Knowledge she acquires, her Knowledge Rank increases by 1 (starts at 0). Each Rank influences any of her spells or fire spells by increasing Magnitude and Duration by 0.5%. For example 30 Ranks would give her a bonus +15%. It would take 100 Ranks to get a significant bonus of +50%. Elana has a Max Rank of 250.
- Ranks also improve summons in stats along with duration, with the exception being the Deady Vermin. Stats are increased 3 points per Rank.
- The obsolete "Infamy" Actor Value is used for Elana to track this and to provide a perk calculation for the bonus.
- You can view all of her Forbidden Knowledge statistics by talking to her.
Fixes
- When activated, Easy Mode for Gems now removes all non gems from her satchel and puts them in her inventory, leaving only gems.
- Fixed an issue where not immediately taking Elana then trying to recruit her afterwords would fail on the first time.
Version 1.0.3
- Missing hair textures now pathed correctly for enemy NPCs.
- Picking up a formula should complete optional Formula objective in the miscellaneous section and complete the running quest.
- Whispering Shroud no longer accidentally activates Corpse Healing.
- Formulas no longer drop if Elana is not a teammate (follower). This prevents an annoyance if setting aside Elana for later in your playthrough.
- Formula drops have a one-hour timeout before respawning.
- Necromancer attacks are now randomly occurring (25% chance) when nearing a dungeon that contains a formula. Only 3 Necromancers spawn baseline, chance of 4 if player is level 15+, chance of 5 if player is 20+.
- Enemies now scale to 100% of player's level (was 110%) and minimum level 1 (was 8).
Version 1.0.2
Fixes:
- Elana can now deliver idle lines while doing her introductory quest.
- Idle and looting lines now require her to be a teammate.
- Reworked the looting lines backend system and fixed a couple of bugs.
- Fixed a handful of idle lines missing cooldowns.
- Blocked Elana commenting on purchased items.
- Added object bounds to the staff in the event this might cause an issue with other mods.
- Corrected issue with Elana variable getting stuck causing her to not update worn items, create potions or buy ingredients.
- Elana no longer contratulates the player twice if leveling up, if NFF is installed.
Settings (Talk Menu):
- You can now set idle frequency to never, if you wish (toggles from frequent to normal to rare to never).
- You can now toggle on or off player looted lines.
Installation:
- Installer now installs Elana as an esp, esl-flagged file with no esm flag. This may fix some issues with the file causing a CTD for some players. The mod doesn't have anything to do with reference handle limits, so should be fine. There should be no issue with changing this in existing game (I have been testing this situation with no issue so far). However, I will also have an esm version in miscellaneous downloads if there is one.
Interaction:
- Elana can now comment if the player picks up valuable items (over 100 gold in value).
- Several janky lines reworked.
- Elana and Seraphina have reduced chance of Attack, Taunt, Enter and Exit Combat lines and all have cooldowns.
- Several combat lines have cooldowns.
- Lowered Relationship gain by around 25% overall so progression is a bit slower.
- All dialogue that has to do with setting mod options are now in a sub menu, "I'd like to change some things.". This area just had too much clutter.
- The dialogue option "I'd like you to use the staff to imbue some ingredients." has been changed to "I'd like you to convert ingredients to an imbued gem."
Changes:
- Using the Skeleton Horde has a chance to summon Pee-Wee Vermit as one of the crew. He is smaller than the others and fights with a giant bone (funny bone?) that can cause chaos damage. A little tribute to Paul Rubens.
- Loot lines are far less likely to be said at the same time as other Nether's followers.
- When asking Elana to wait, tracking quest is set active (only works if Miscellaneous is also active).
- When entering a location with a formula, the formula is tracked with a quest marker (Miscellanous quest). It is active if you have Misc section active.
- The cheat mode, where you can learn all spells instead of having to track down ingredients, can now be activated at any time and is called Easy Mode. Previously, it could only be done when you found all formulas. Though you can still do it after finding all formulas, you can ask her to do this at any time. This option now adds a gem to her chest when finding each formula, bypassing the need to track down materials. Furthermore, when you first activate this feature, it will give you all gems that you do not have for formulas you have already found.
- You can now turn off Elana's Essential flag, making her killable. She starts off as Essential and you can turn if off after helping her with her intro. If updating this mod in an existing game, to get Essential/Non-Essential feature to work, you will need to target her in the work in console and type: resurrect to refresh this setting since it's baked-in from the base.
- Corpse Healing reworked. Much more accurate to find bodies and heal allies.
- Halved Seraphina's chance to paralyze.
Quest Content:
- When with Elana and retrieving formulas from a dungeon, there is a chance that rival necromancers will also be in the dungeon. They appear in groups of 3-5 and will seek you out. They should clean just like the formula system if you move from a dungeon to another or change your mind. Once you find all formulas, you will no longer encounter these rivals.
- When traveling around Skyrim or Solstheim and Elana is in your crew, there is a chance that Mages from the College and hired Mage Hunters will be encountered in wilderness areas near roads. They really want that staff back! They can appear in groups of 3-5 and may be slightly challenging.
- When you have discovered 4 or more formulas, you can be also encountered by Mage Hunters that are seeking to recover the stolen staff that Elana carries. Defeating the leader will start a quest, called Unstaffed, that allows you to help resolve this issue. This encounter tends to occur more often along the roads of Skyrim, where normal random encounters occur.
Version 1.0.1
Changes:
- Corpse Healing is no longer spammy. Can detect up to 3 dead bodies in range that can each heal a hurt ally for 90 Health. Should not heal the same ally twice within 5 seconds. Dead bodies cannot heal again if they have already been "tapped" (uses "Has Been Eaten" game variable).
- Corpse Healed target can now say "Healed by Magic" comments.
- Skeleton Horde skeletons now do 20% more melee damage.
- FOMOD now points to Nexus mod page.
- Potion changes: Bewitching Bat's Brew lasts 60 seconds. Detect the Dead lasts 60 seconds. Skyclad Potion lasts 30 seconds. Creature summons are a bit stronger (40% of level, somewhat higher health).
- Dispel and Bunny explosions no longer have Force, just in case.
- Vermin hostile check changed to hostile versus player OR hostile versus Elana (specifically).
- Elana now has some extra Friendly Fire protection. Uses OnHit/OnCast events with State to prevent spam, 3 second cooldown for checks. This should help to resolve friendly fire or neutral fire situations. Can be turned off or on in her Talk menu (it is on by default). Once switching between on or off, might take a combat event to fully go into affect (within 3 seconds).
- Elana's core single-summon minions now have Friendly Fire protection. Uses OnHit/OnCast events with State to prevent spam, 3 second cooldown for checks. Can be turned off or on in her Talk menu (it is on by default).
- All of Elana's damaging effects require hostility to Elana (specifically) or the Player.
- Elana corrected to spend time in Mistview Keep, any day, from 6 pm at night until 2 am. At Haelga's from 2 am until 8 am. Then randomly wanders the market area in Riften otherwise. No, she doesn't get enough sleep. To prevent alteration of Actor record, Haelga package added to controller alias, only if not teammate, not current follower faction.
Fixes:
- EFF install option is now separate from Vanilla. Also will install an esp (esl-flagged) to allow recruitment to work properly under EFF.
- Added missing brow texture for Seraphina.
- Marriage now offers the option "Move into spouse's house" to prevent permanent dialogue block. It actually doesn't really have any effect since Elana doesn't own a house but otherwise, it's too many conditions to remove the block (well over 20 and it won't work for those without AE installed, so let's just not worry about it for now).
- Corrected multiple cold weather idle lines that were rapidly firing.

HOW TO START: - After installing the mod, go to Bleakfalls Barrow (even if you've been there before). You'll help her to recover components and a formula. Speak with her after completing the quest to learn about her backstory and how to use her unique features.
INTERACTION and COMMENTARY: - Lots of commentary and interaction, much of it tongue-in-cheek. - Supports the vanilla style of comments when Elana gets near the entrance to a dungeon, sees an impressive view or senses a dangerous situation. Can comment when healed. - Comments on player actions and situations such as collisions, leveling and being sick. - Comments in dungeons, inns, miscellaneous locations, weather, wilderness and general comments that are thoughtful or humorous. - She can comment on the things that the player picks up or when boss chests and bodies are looted. - Quest Awareness lines at different points for most main quest chains in the base game: Dawnguard, Dark Brotherhood, The Companions, The Thieves Guild, The College of Winterhold and the Main Questline. - You can interact with Elana to ask here where to find all kinds of ingredients in the game. - Elana can make specific comments in Alchemy shops and occasionally purchase ingredients. - Further direct interaction under the "Can we talk for a moment?+" dialogue choice. - Options under "Can we talk" allow you to set her idle frequence, her ability to make potions or purchase ingredients from Alchemists.
OUTFIT SYSTEM: Elana can use a "wear what is in your inventory" system. By default, she has a normal outfit system but you can change this by talking to her (under Can we talk for a moment?+).
When activated, she will wear what you give her as long as there aren't multiple competing items for the same location. She should wear these items even when dismissed or not with you. This will also apply to wigs.
This will allow you to improve and enchant items for her. Under the hood, whenever you trade with Elana and exit the trading menu, an array of what she is wearing is checked against and enforced when necessary.
RELATIONSHIP: Elana has different relationship ranks that are acquired when the player scores so many points with her. These are Acquaintence (0), Friend (125), Ally (250) and Enamored (500).
You raise these points by spending time with her, fighting alongside her, finding formulas and asking her how she's doing (once per hour for the latter).
Relationship determines how friendly she can interact with you. At a certain point of asking her how she's doing, she will say that she thinks she's starting to develop feelings for you. If you reciprocate, she will say more flirty things in the future. Marrying her also unlocks flirty lines. You can always ask her how you and her are doing, specifically and she will comment based on her relationship rank with you and give you your relationship point total (message box).
Besides the various ranked benefits listed further below, getting the highest rank with her, allows you to marry her.
FORMULAS: One of the mechanics of the mod is that you can expand Elana's spell casting abilities by finding spell formulas in boss chests in the world (can be dungeon chest or any area that is clearable). They are found in a random order. There is a general 60% chance to find a formula in a given chest. This increases to 80% in draugr tombs and to 100% if you are in a necromancer or vampire lair. Elana should provide an voiced hint if there is a formula to be found in an area.
Formulas are understood once the player reads the formula. However, Elana can't cast it until you find the materials that are required. After acquiring the materials for a given formula and placing those in her specimen satchel, she can cast the spell that the formula represents. To help you gather ingredients, there are several quality of life features. Of course, a formula itself lists all the ingredients required. This information is also on the tooltip for the formula, which you see in an inventory. Also if you read and close the formula, you will receive a (messagebox) list of all the ingredients you already have and which you are missing - this list only includes what is in your inventory. Tip: Elana might have some spooky ingredients in her own inventory.
Each formula always requires some kind of soul gem. You can use already filled, player filled or empty soul gems for this purpose. There are 11 formulas total. She starts with 1 and you help her find another during her intro quest. That leaves 9 to discover out in the world.
You can always ask her how many formulas are still out there. A message box will show you how many you've found and how many are left to find.
Most of the formulas require a variety of "spooky" ingredients.
The spells from formulas are listed under Spell Types, further below.
SPECIMEN SATCHEL: Elana keeps all of the components used to cast her spells in her recipe satchel (besides the baseline spell, Darkbolt). In order for her to be able to use spells after finding the formulas for them, the components used to cast the spell must reside in her satchel.
Besides Deadly Vermin (part of the intro quest), the player must also read the formulas to make the components valid, which you should do organically to know what components to acquire.
You can more efficiently handle working with components by asking her to use her staff to distill components down into gem form. This allows you to simply remove a gem to disable a spell and add a gem to enable one.
IMBUE GEM: Through dialogue, you can ask Elana to imbue any components in her specimen satchel. She will convert these components into gems. She can convert ingredients to multiple formulas at once. She cannot make duplicates of the same formula if that gem is already present in her satchel.
SWITCHING SPELLS: Elana will attempt to cast any spells that she has components for that are in her specimen satchel. The easiest way to handle this is to make sure that you've turned all the components into gems. To switch spells around, ask to look in her specimen satchel and (if you have SkyUI installed), enter "imb" in the filter box (all the gems start with "imbued") to just show the gems. Trade the gems for the spells you don't want her to cast to your inventory and the ones you do want her to cast from your inventory to the specimen satchel. All of the gems have a zero weight in order to not add to your encumbrance (they are magic, so magically weightless?).
Another convenience is to keep the formulas of which you still need ingredients for in your own inventory instead of hers, so it's easy for you to see which you might still need.
SPELLS CHEAT MODE: You can enable a cheat mode for ingredients. Once you have discovered all the formulas, you can talk with Elana and let her know that you aren't really interested in hunting for materials. She will try to talk you out of it but you can go through with the cheat or cancel it (either choice is one-time). If you decide to cheat, Every Imbued Gem that isn't in her Satchel will be placed there. This is for folks that want to use the follower's abilities but aren't keen on spending time looking for materials.
ALCHEMY: Elana was designed to be able to work with formulas and ingredients "in the field" in order to not require you to hang near an alchemy lab all day, messing around. However, she is near an alchemy lab and want to imbue materials that are in her satchel to a more convenient gem, only 1 less material is required. This means you can skip any 1 material that you like. So if a formula requires 1 void salt, 1 common soul gem and 2 bone dust and you are missing the void salt, it will still make the gem. Or you could be missing 1 of the 2 bone dust, but have the other materials.
Elana can specfically make comments in Alchemy shops. She will also buy extra ingredients from time to time if she has an extra 100 gold to spend in her inventory - this gives her a mixed selection of ingredients.
You can ask her where to find certain alchemical ingredients if you just want general knowledge or are having difficulty aquiring them. Other benefits attributed to alchemy depend on your relationship rank with Elana.
Alchemy Training - At relationship rank 1 and higher, Elana can train the player in Alchemy, up to a skill rank of 75. Alchemy training still costs gold.
Elana can brew up some interesting, unique potions at rank 1 (and higher). Around once per day, when she's near an Alchemy Station. There are a variety of these:
-- Witches Brew (always created, 2-4, for herself and the player): Restores Health and Magicka, with different leveled variants. Strength is around 60% of single Health or single Magicka potion at the same level. Elana will also use the Witches Brew when hurt in combat, using the strongest to weakest potions in her inventory. -- Instant Skeleton (random chance, player only): Summons a skeleton for 60 seconds that is 25% of the player's level. -- Detect the Dead (random chance, player only): Detects the dead and undead in the area for 60 seconds. -- Bewitching Bats Brew (random chance, player only): Attracts a swarm of bats to surround the imbiber for 30 seconds, doing damage to nearby hostile targets (only affects the living). -- Vial of Subject 13 (random chance, player only): Summons a white skeever for 60 seconds. -- Spider in a Jar (random chance, player only): Summons a spider that can melee or fire webs at range for 60 seconds. -- Skyclad Potion (random chance, player only): Removes body armor from all hostile humanoid npcs in the area and has a 25% chance to remove armor from allies or friendly targets. Lasts 10 seconds. Targets can resist versus magic. -- Bottle of Undead Terror (random chance, player only): Causes undead in the area to flee for 10 seonds. Targets can resist versus shock.
At rank 2 or higher, the player gains a new perk, Necromancer's Brewmate, that gives him a 20% chance to brew additional potions when Elana is a teammate.
At rank 3 or higher, the player gains a new perk, Efficient Fluids, that allows beneficial potions with a duration to last 15% longer and single-fire beneficial potions to be 10% more potent.
SPELL TYPES: Some formulas have spell types. These are Summon (includes reanimation/raise), Armor, Damage and Healing.
Summon Protection Damage Healing
Elana can only use one type of a spell at one time. If you have multiple spells with the same type active, she will use the strongest one she has Magicka for. Summon includes raising a creature from the dead or summoning one in, such as Test Subject and Stony Guardian. Creatures other than Test Subject are 70% of Elana's level. Armor includes any armor type spells, like Strength of the Damned. Damage includes spells that work independently of her normal attacks and can be small groups of creatures that can be dispatched easily but cause additional damage if they are not dealt with, such as Deadly Vermin and Skelly Horde. Healing is any healing that happens in an aura around Elana, such as Corpse Healing.
Spells:
Initial -- - Test Subject (Summon): Can revive a nearby ferocious animal for 60 seconds. Subjects have slightly enhanced health and stamina. - Deadly Vermin (Damage): Summons 3-5 Murder Bunnies that seek out nearby opponents and explode upon impact. Cause decent damage when they hit.
Discovered -- - Corpse Healing (Healing: For 30 seconds, any corpses in the area can be disentigrated to heal the caster or her allies. Moderately strong heal, only affects 1 target at a time. - Strength of the Damned (Protection: For 60 seconds, the caster and their allies have their physical defense increased by 25, their cold and poison resistance increased by 25 and are immune to disease damage. -Stony Guardian (Summon): For 3 minutes, summons a gargoyle, Boris, that protects the caster and taunts all allies in a fairly large area to fight it (resist versus shock). - Skeleton Horde (Damage): For 30 seconds, summons a horde of small, giggling skeletons to aid the caster. Counts as a damage enhancement. - Withering Flesh (Damage): Causes nearby enemies to wither, doing 3 damage to health per second and reducing Magicka and Stamina regeneration by 25%. Lasts for 8 seconds. Counts as a damage enhancement. Only affects targets in line of sight. - Zombie Cat (Summon): For 3 minutes, summons a zombie sabrecat cub, Creepers, that protects the caster and her allies. Can knock down opponents on a power attack. - Whispering Shroud (Healing): Heals all moderately hurt allies in the area for 8 Health and Magicka and 5 Stamina every second for 6 seconds. Can only occur once per 10 seconds. - Infernal Ward (Protection): For 60 seconds, all allies have their physical defense increased by 25, Fire Resistance increased by 30 and their Magic Resistance increased by 10. - Vampiric Assistant (Summon): For 3 minutes, summons a vampiric assistant, Seraphina, that assists the caster. Can use vampiric drain, reanimate weaker foes and use cold magic at high enough level. Her vampiric drain can mesmerize opponents, paralyzing them for a few seconds.
Baseline Spell -- Darkbolt: Causes 25 health damage (similar to firebolt), resisted against fire. Lower's enemy's magic resistance by 10% and has a 15% chance to stagger when hit.
SCRIPTED SPELLS: Some spells require using a script to look through the spells that Elana has, determine if she has the Magicka for the spell and if so, cast it. This happens pretty quickly and is only checked once per 10 seconds during combat. The order in which she checks spell types is (top to bottom): Protection, Summon, Damage and Healing.
FUTURE ADD-ONS: I am keeping the main esl/sem flagged mod for core work and then may expand with (esl-flagged where possible): - Quest pack that fleshes out her backstory and adds new fun quests. - Interactions pack with community characters and other npcs. - Comments about other community lands packs, such as Wyrmstooth or Grey Cowl locations.
FAQ: There are too many ingredients. I'm lost. Just convert the ingredients to imbued gems. It makes it much easier to keep track of which spells she has available. The gems also are named for each formula, making it easier to understand what they are used for. You can always ask Elana where to find certain ingredients. Alchemy shops are a good source as well, as well as Valerica's study during the Dawnguard questline. Once you have all formulas, you can by talking to her to acquire all the imbued gems.
Can I put other things in the specimen satchel? You can easily use the satchel as a separate inventory. I would avoid adding ingredients or miscellaneous materials, such as skins and animal parts if you are still planning on creating imbued gems.
Why is this an ESP instead of an ESL/ESM? Just for ease as a developer, using the CK and other tools, this is a esp flagged as esm and esl, a light master. I can make any CK edits without it destroying versioning information and having to constantly rename the mod. It will load after any normal esm and before any esp that aren't flagged esm.
