Introduction

Obvious Eyes (Yes, I am very human) vs Subtle Vampire Eyes

Have you ever wondered how on Nirn vampires in Skyrim can go unnoticed when they have obviously glaring red eyes with dark sclera? If I saw someone with those eyes, I'm 100% running to the guards. Even if that person's not a vampire, there's something clearly wrong with them that warrants a quarantine.

Subtle Vampire Eyes gets rid of this problem by giving all the vampires in the game subtly glowing eyes that looks like human eyes in the light, but glows in the dark.

Features

Subtle glowing eyes

During the day, a perfect gentleman vs During the night, a creature of darkness
Many glowing eyes look obviously glowing even under the light. This mod gives a very subtle glow that is only noticeable in the dark

White sclera with no weird eye shadows

Ugly eye shadows that required grey sclera to hide vs Perfectly normal eyes
Glowing eyes in general have grey sclera. You might have wondered why, and there is a good technical reason behind this: making the eye mesh glow inevitably makes weird eye shadow on the eyes. Making the sclera grey hides this jarring issue.
This mod uses talented Artsick's Starsight Eyes meshes so it's completely free from this problem.

No headlight eyes, but only glowing iris

Headlight eyes vs Only the pupil glows
As a way of bypassing eyeshadow problems, some glowing eyes adopt the option to give a subtle glow to the sclera (an option I've been taking so far). However, this causes the whole of the eyes to glow like a headlight in the dark. Subtle Vampire Eyes only gives the glow to the iris using Starsight Eyes meshes.

Affects all the NPCs

Normal adventurers, maybe? Or... maybe not

Automatically applies to almost* all the vanilla and modded NPCs as long as they use vanilla vampire eyes assets.
*Everyone except Harkon, Serana, Valerica will be affected. The three not being affected is in part technical and in part artistic choice. (See the Q and A section below for detailed description as to why).

Comes in Coldharbour Blue and Daedric Red

Natural yet striking Coldharbour Blue to show your dual nature or Daring and powerful. Express your hunger with Daedric Red

...Sorry for the weird IT color names. But you get the gist.
Blue color texture is from MStill's amazing Underworld vampire eye pack, which captured the original movie's beautiful and jarring eyes 100%
Red color texture is a modified version of TheNytech's Glowing Eyes for Serana Re-Imagined mod.

Installation and Compatibility

Installation
Install the FOMOD like any other mod.
Installing mid-game should be fine.

Compatibility
Should be compatible with all mods, but keep in mind that this mod will affect all the vampire eyes in game invasively.
This means if some modders made a creature or an NPC with vanilla vampire eyes in mind, the end result will not look the same with this mod.

(Soft) incompatibility with NPC retexture mods that uses custom hair, yet only include the facegen files and not the hair mesh in the mod. The NPCs affected, in this case, will have bald hair unless you provide the hair mesh. Otherwise, they should work fine. Also, NPC replacers using custom eye meshes, of course, will not be affected by this mod.

I'm using Pandorable's awesome retexture mod for dawnguard NPCs so I've included the patch for Pandorable's NPCs - Dawnguard, which uses their own eyes. The patch links the modified eyes to the NPC retexture and provides the needed hair meshes so the NPCs don't lose their hair.

Load Order
Shouldn't matter as long as you are not using other mods that modify the vanilla vampire eye records. You can check this by using xEdit and seeing if any other esps are modifying the records this mod is modifying.
Other mods using vanilla vampire eye meshes and textures will all be ignored with this mod, so no need to worry about load order with them.
If you are using the provided Pandorable's replacers patch, just make sure to load the patch after the replacer's esp.

Questions and Answers

Is this compatible with (insert a mod name here)?
This is a looks mod. No script, no nothing, just meshes and record change to apply the meshes and textures. If that mod is somehow modifying the vanilla vampire eyes record (mostly they don't), there will be conflicts. Otherwise, no conflict.
I have a list of some big vampire changing mods below that I'm using, so check that part out for your peace of mind!

Can you make (insert color here) version?
You can make it yourself with any eye textures you have. Go into the 'textures\SVeyes\EyeMod\glow' folder and you'll see what you need to do with your texture.

The eye glows are too week!
It's called subtle vampire eyes for a reason. I intentionally made the glow barely noticeable because otherwise, all the vampires should be noticed by the people and captured by the guards.
However, if you want to make the glows more obvious, you can go into 'meshes\SVeyes\EyeMod\glow' and its 'male' folder to find both 'eyeGlow21.nif' files and open them with nifscope.
In nifscope, clicking the BSDynamicTriShape will show BSLightingShaderProperty. Find Emissive Multiple. (It should be set to 0.35). Change the strength. The higher the number, the stronger the glow.

Why no Harkon/Serana/Valerica? (includes a very mild spoiler)
Serana has a script that swaps out her eye textures when she's cured. The Starsight eye meshes uses extra part to make the eyes glow, which cannot be affected by the script. This results in her eyes not changing properly, So I've decided to exempt Serana from the list of people affected (conveniently, the game uses a separate record for Serana's eyes).
Making that decision and realizing that the game uses their own eye records for Harkon, Serana and Valerica, I thought I'll leave the three alone for partial artistic reasons. They are ancient powerful beings. Maybe all the powers have driven them far away from humanity enough to make them more noticeable.
You can use replacers made for these NPCs to give them unique look with the way the modders intended!

Confirmed to be compatible (Mods I am using with this)

Pandorable's Dawnguard, Valerica, Serana retextures to give new looks to the family.
Expressive Facegen Morphs to get rid of vampire facemorph, to make vampires harder to notice.
Cosmetic Vampire Overhaul HD to beautify the vanilla vampires. My eyes will override the change in this mod.
Better Vampires. I imagine no conflict with other overhaul mods like Sacrosanct or Scion.
Diverse Skyrim SSE. All the new vampire NPCs will have the subtle eyes.

Credits

Bethesda for Skyrim.
Artsick's Starsight Eyes for the eye meshes. Check out their mod for more awesome eyes. The glowing and pulsating eyes are out of this world. Thank you so much for gracefully having an open asset use permission with credit!
MStill's Underworld vampire eye pack for the blue color option. I've been using their texture with my own modification for a long time before I made this mod. If you are not comfortable with changing vanilla records, this mod is an alternative for the blue vampire eyes.
TheNytech's Glowing Eyes for Serana Re-Imagined for the red color option. Thanks for making a beautiful yet realistic red eyes textures and posting them with graceful open asset permission!
Pandorable's Pandorable's NPCs - Dawnguard for the base for the patch.
