I was minding my business yesterday when I suddenly received this beautiful piece of art:



I was moved by such an amazing bribe talent and decided to help. But of course, not before punishing the talentest artist, Ratchetkiin, with a bunch of patching duties. Most people would've ran away the moment I requested them to help with the patch, but not Ratchetkiin. They persevered and spent a few hours changing references and helping me make the mods compatible.

Alas, we now proudly present to you...


This is basically a cutdown version of Simple Hunting Overhaul that only has the NPC reactions and the selling of carcasses via dialogue, leaving everything else to Hunterborn. So basically this addon for Hunterborn comes with these two features:

1) The Hunter's Trade:
- You can sell most carcasses for fur and meat to hunters, butchers, innkeepers and those working with fur (blacksmiths for example).
- This is done via a dialogue option that shows up and can be selected as long as you are carrying a carcass. 
- Prices will vary depending on the utility of the carcass for the given person.
- This is all completely voiced and has easter eggs and funny reactions depending on the carcass, the shopkeeper and more.

2) NPC Reactions:
- When carrying carcasses, some NPCs might react around you, with sentences like "Good hunting!", "Good catch!", or "Hello fellow hunter!", etc.
- Carrying carcasses in front of guards might have them question you about poaching. Being a Thane or having bought a Hunter's Permit allows you to stay clear of the guards' questioning. Permits can be bought during this interaction.

*This mod does NOT require the original Simple Hunting Overhaul, this is a standalone mod and is NOT compatible with the original SHO.

Extra mods you should consider installing:
- Carry Your Carcasses (Hunterborn version): Without this mod, my mod custom reactions won't make much sense, as they are counting that you have a visible carcass on your person. So even though it's not a requirement per se, you should 100% install it and apply it via IED for the ultimate experience.
- Carry Your Carcasses With Animations (Hunterborn Version): Carry Your Carcasses makes a whole lot more sense with this one. Get both!!!
- Hunterborn Animations: See your character perform the animations from Hunterborn.
- Immersive Death Cycle: See animals decompose and eventually turn into bones.
- Skills of the Wild: if you use Campfire, you should give SOTW a look. I've relaunched it for version 2.0 - It no longer edits vanilla records so it's compatible with everything, it's lost its crazy requirements and it's an all-around great mod for immersion players. Get it while it's hot.

But why? I thought you hated Hunterborn!
No, have you been drinking skooma? The fact that I no longer want to use Hunterborn does not mean I hate it. I love Hunterborn even though I'm done with it (Also, I'm still suffering Hunterborn PTSD - Every time I kill an animal, I still avoid looting it out of muscle memory). So this is just a way to let people use my trading and npc reactions without having to drop Hunterborn if they don't want to. I personally prefer Simple Hunting Overhaul, but I can see the appeal of Hunterborn. In the end... it's a personal choice you'll have to make yourself.

Are all carcasses covered?
No, only the carcasses covered by "Carry Your Carcasses" are covered here, same as in Simple Hunting Overhaul. No, sorry. No reactions to you carrying a mammoth. Because you shouldn't be able to carry a mammoth in the first place lol.

Can I listen to the reactions and the trading dialogue?
Yes, reactions are the same ones you can hear in this video.

Can I use this mod together with Simple Hunting Overhaul?
No, this mod is a cut-down version of SHO made specifically with Hunterborn. Please, don't install them together.

Can I use DAK to pick up hunterborn animals?
No, that's just available in Simple Hunting Overhaul. Someone else can make a plugin between DAK and Hunterborn if they want to.

Can I also draw something in paint to convince you to work on a certain mod idea?
I mean, you can try for sure, but this is probably one of those things that only works once haha. I'm always happy to guide you and point you in the right direction though if you want to make your mod ideas come true!
