About this video
Over the years there have been many greats when it comes to lighting mods.
ELFx, Relighting Skyrim, Master lights, Lanterns of Skyrim 2, and more.
They are all great but trying to get them all to play nice with interior and exterior overhauls was always a challenge because of Skyrim's limit on shadow casting light sources, and placement of new items like braziers.
Sometimes the lights were good but lacked that realism factor (i.e. 'Fake light') or were simply to add light to an area without that added ambiance that mods like window shadows added.
Then I tried LUX by GGUNIT.
The ambiance and mystery of exploring an old ruin was revitalized.
Shafts of light, shadow and light ONLY coming from valid sources brought areas I had been to many times before to new life.
Better yet GGUNIT put a TON of time and effort into not only revamping pretty much all the lighting in the game but also removing any flicker from the shadow light limit that I had with some other mods.
The support and patches available for integration with other mods like JK's interiors was excellent.
Now realize GGUNIT took it a few steps further by redoing all the exterior light sources as well as adding unique and varied lamp posts and bridges with LUX Orbis and LUX Via.
Best part is they were all designed to work together without issues.
Added in EVLaS (the successor to DVLSS), and now have 'God rays', and shadows that complement the light sources of LUX mods producing vivid and realistic lighting both indoors and out.
It's like a completely different game.
