About this video

This has been requested A LOT. I tried my best to explain all the steps, but feel free to ask in the comments any question that you may have. I added the timestamps on the video descripton in case that you want to skip some parts.

  • I put all the tools used in the video and their respective download links (all free). In this video I'm making the replacer for Skyrim Special Edition, but the steps can be applied to Skyrim Legendary Edition as well, nothing changes.
  • You can apply this tutorial to any NPC, be it from a mod or vanilla.

Also, sorry if this feels like a 2010 video. I had trouble with my screen recorder and had to take several screenshots instead of making a smooth video (which was the original idea). If I'm able to, I would like to remake this tutorial in the future.

I hope you find this tutorial useful or at least interesting.

Happy modding!

Hi. I did everything as in the video and nothing worked. To be precise, I downloaded your presets for LE (I'm playing the LE version), uploaded them to RaceMenu, saved them in the sculptor, and tried changing and not changing the data in nifscope. The result was the same, the face (Bryling) changed, but not at all as it should. The NPC's hairstyle remained the same. I checked all the files with the name base id of the NPC and there was only one created by me. The path to the file was correct, I even downloaded another no esp replicator for LE and inserted my nif file there (having previously renamed it to 00013265.nif). I also disabled all mods except those in the requirement, and the situation did not change. I can't even imagine what this could be related to(((
Moreover, the NPCs from your replicer are working fine, and specifically my file gives some kind of incorrect display. Also in nifskope, my nif file is displayed correctly, with the right facial features, but in the game it looks different (worse)
I did some more experiments. In general, the problem seems to be how the nif files are saved, or rather in their structure (I don't know if you can help). In other words, I changed a ready-made character in your mod, and the situation repeated itself. I would say that the face is slightly different from vanilla. However, then I replaced the face in your nif file with my own via nif-merge and everything was displayed correctly. In other words, the game doesn't see the head in my file or anything like that...

Thanks for this! I found it helpful, but I didn't see where it mentioned this won't work with the high poly head, though renaming the other head parts did work in conjunction with following Kalilies' tutorial here. It's not plugin-free, but I can now use presets to create NPC replacers. :)
