Today, we're featuring Lion Thane Stronghold, a 2024 home/community mod for Skyrim PC (AE/SE) by Gwendragon! This mod adds a quest to acquire a Thanedom right outside of Whiterun, that contains 16 voiced NPCs (4 of which are your mom, dad, grandfather, and sister!), and it has room for 10 followers, 6 adopted kids, and your spouse. It adds a mine, gardens, homes for your family and workers, a fish hatchery, all expected cooking and crafting, a room to store your unique items, a skill boost room, chopping blocks, a grain mill, fantastic art work, etc. The mod author said that this home was inspired by Whiterun Safehold, but they wanted the interior of the home to be in one cell, so you could navigate inside of the home without loading screens (always appreciated). The aesthetic inspiration of the castle came from buildings like "Palazzo della Signoria, and the background history of Lady Arabelle Devoux was something from Elder Scrolls online that inspired the mod author.
