Experience the Werehog's Extreme power as you brawl with enemies throughout all night stages in Like a Werehog: Extreme Fury!

Winner of the Mania Trophy in the 3D Catagory for Sonic Hacking Contest 2024!

So, what's changed?
Well I could list off every value I changed but would you care lol?

So I guess the best thing I can do is just summerise:

Introducing... STYLES!

Show Dark Gaia who's boss with Style switching, now you can choose between 6 styles to fit your gameplay preferences.

These styles appear in all night areas apart from Windmill Isle.

Werehog: This style is whatever you want it to be, as in... you can put other
mods before Extreme Fury, such as Like a Werehog OG, Werehogs Fury or
even a hypothetical "Werehog May Cry" and that will be the gameplay for
the Werehog style.

Rush: A faster but weaker style, chain combos in quick succession and dodge
like your life depends on it. Shield replenishes fast and Fury decreases
slowly.

Brawler: A more balanced style, improving on the original Like a Werehog mod. Fury
drains at a balanced rate, hits a tiny bit harder but with no speed
increase.

Beast: A slower but heavy hitting style, you have more health. Fury runs out the
fastest of all the styles but hits like a truck and brushes being
knocked down off by getting up instantly.

Legend: A style not to different to the Brawler style, but with the beta moveset.
Fury offers very slight stat buffs, invincibility and decreases very
slowly in this style but requires you to fill your Fury bar to activate,
in theory you can keep the Fury going the whole stage if you are
skilled enough. Shield gain is however the slowest in this style.
An example of the beta moveset is X X Y, this is a swipe, swipe, slash that removes shields from Egg Fighters wielding them.
You cannot use Fury until your stats are maxed out, Legend is an end game style.
(Iconic Yagami Scream may play upon death).

Reborn: Your Fury can be used at any point no matter how filled the bar is. During
Fury your damage is doubled, tho the bar does drain fairly fast, so it
is useful for clearing enemies in a pinch. Shield recharges slower, but
Fury is expected to be used more often. Your guard moves speed is
reduced but you are still powerful.

The Werehog style is the base game style and active when Extreme Fury styles are not active.

How to access the styles, go to the World Map at night and they should be
above the stages, pressing a style then triggering a loading screen
means that style is active, doing that again lacking a loading screen
means the default/Werehog style is now active.

Extra... STYLES!

Extra styles you say? Yes in the new stages you can use the styles below.
Note: These styles can only be used in the new stages, not the base game stages.
These styles are located in Windmill Isle night.

Slasher: Shield charges fast but not as fast as Rush. Attacks have magnet level auto
targeting allowing you to dash around, input, then gravitate in to
enemies. Removed dash startup delay, allowing for very responsive
running, which then allows for the hit n run style attacks &
generally less clunky high speed control. Suggested attacks are all
attacks under the "Special" category that utilise the dash.

Buster: Shield charges slower. Attack power in Fury can knock down all enemies on screen. Item power ups last 50% longer in this style.

Hermit: Unbreaking guard to most enemies, except minibosses. Slower general move speed but faster than beast. Weaker but
quicker attacks, allowing for you to drop your guard and swipe fast then
raise your guard. The guard power up pickup is 100% stronger, which
will also stop your guard from breaking to minibosses.

Berserker: Power ups last twice as long and are twice as strong. Fury reduces slowly. Attack power and speed are higher in Fury. Health is not
regained from rings, only pickups. Shield charges fastest as a counter
to harder to regen health. However your guard move and dodge speeds are
lower.

Chaotic: Feel the (cheats) POWER, simply invincible, I left this in by accident but have fun!
This is a debugging style and will be removed in the future.

New stages and challenges!The Arena
Practice your combo skills in this peaceful combat arena located deep in the
mountains of beautiful Chun-Nan. A Nightmare friend has decided he no
longer wants to kill Sonic- for now & purely wishes to face off in 1
on 1 combat practice until he is strong enough to match your FURY.
An Unleashed essential

The Colosseum
Face off against the Dark Guardians best fighters in this 16 wave combat
encounter, this stage is a mid-late game encounter that will have you on
the edge of your seat until the very end.
Far in the desert lies the ruins of this once grand colosseum, born again with the Dark Guardians
desire to fight, all are welcome- that is, all that oppose Sonic. Be
warned, one wrong move could make the fight only more difficult as the
Guardian isn't know to play fair!
One for the Yakuza fans.

The Gauntlet
Consisting of 4 levels, the Gauntlet's levels 1-3 challenges you to engage with
fights strategically through specific curves in the difficulty. For
example, Gauntlet lv1 requires you to defeat all the enemies without
getting hit! But it isn't that punishing- some attacks won't knock you
out the fight right away, but be warned as they may open you up to
another attack that will kill you.
Gauntlet Finale is a reward for completing 1, 2 & 3; this stage is a meat grinder of the players own
accord- to max out your EXP of course!
Two for the Yakuza fans.

Onslaught
20 FLOORS, each floor tougher than the last, each with varying enemies.
Floors 10, 15 and 20 being boss floors. Can you make it to floor 20
without dying? Put your skills to the test.
The DMC fans will like this one.

Boss Rush
Now you can fight all 4 night bosses in succession.
Each of these new modes can be found in the EggmanLand region.

The Dojo Trials
Each region now has a mode that lets you play said regions stages back2back.

The Dojo Trials: The Ultimate Run
Take what I said before, but now it is all 29 night stages in succession.

Changes include all changes seen in Like a Werehog, plus:
  • 5 new styles to choose between in all stages.
  • 5 new additional styles to use in the new stages only.
  • 1 new Arena stage to practice the new combat in.
  • 4 Gauntlets to test your strategy.
  • The Colosseum to test your skills in wave based combat.
  • Onslaught, a mode with ascending floors, survive until floor 20 to beat the onslaught.
  • Improvements to the og Like a Werehog in the form of the Brawler & Reborn styles.
  • Foreign Input System 3.0.
  • Other gameplay mods can be used under this mod.

Foreign Input System:
A basic overview on Foreign Input System is about letting you use inputs
that do not exist in the original game's combo sequences to switch
in-and-out between specific combo pairs—those pairs being inverse combo
pairs (ICPs) and reverse combo pairs (RCPs).

ICP Examples:
Donkey Kick Combo [YYXXX] and Egg Scrambler [XXYYY]
Possibilities would be: YYXYY, XXYXX
Double Axle Combo [YYYXX] and Wereclap [XXXYY]
Possibilities would be: YYYXY, XXXYX

RCP Examples:
Donkey Kick Combo [YYXXX] and Wereclap [XXXYY]
Possibilities would be: YYXYY, YYXYX, XXXYX.
Double Axle Combo [YYYXX] and Egg Scrambler [XXYYY]
Possibilities would be: XXYXX, XXYXY, YYYXY.

All combo changes and new combos are viewable in game in the skills menu.

The version of FIS in Like a Werehog is modified, under the designation, version "1.0.0s" for example, s denotes that the modified version is by me.

If you have the DLC, you need to install this:
Play with Like a Werehog Gaiden.
Then install the patch for Gaiden within the mod known as "Gaiden.zip", instructions on how to install dlc mods here!
The downloads section contains a download for "Additional GI", this is optional and may increase the quality of the lighting in the new stages, this can only be used if you have the DLC.

Possible issues and things to note:
  • The Onslaught will load you to the worldmap then to the next floor, this is
due to a workaround required to maintain style attributes.
  • Lighting in EggmanLand may look mildly incorrect, this may be due to memory limitations.
  • Legend style may have missing effects on a certain attack.
  • The UI may reset to default in Onslaught.
  • There may be flickering on real hardware, I really am not sure why as I do not have an XBOX to test it.
  • Functionality may vary on PS3/RPCS3 due to memory limitations on that platform.
  • Framerate in the Colosseum may be lower due to complexity of the stage.
  • If the mod is installed but the styles or stages do not appear, you may
have the DLC installed, in which case, follow the section above.
  • The DLC/Gaiden will not work on PS3, if you have the DLC on those platforms, uninstall it.
  • If Onslaught or Colosseum do not boot, copy the sound folder from the mod and paste it into your rom, do not overwrite.

Should work on Xenia & XBOX.
May have issues on RPCS3 & PS3.
