GAS MASKS OF THE ZONE is a modified stand alone version I made of the gasmasks and night vision features from COLD LIGHT: PHOTOREALISTIC ZONE,
for those who don't use this mod, but would still love more immersion in STALKER 2.

It features 6 MASK OVERLAYS based on all STALKER 2 helmets and armors types with advanced effects such as glass refraction, haze & tinting,
as well as 5 NIGHT VISIONS settings based on previous STALKER games NVGs and upgrades system.

All is done with custom made code and assets using ReShade framework and all the shaders are applied below the game's UI and HUD elements.
Everything have been tailored to maximize immersion without getting in the way of gameplay.
It can be used on its own or added on top of another ReShade.


INSTALLATION:
Download the file and extract all the content into your:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2\Stalker2\Binaries\Win64 folder,
where Stalker2-Win64-Shipping.exe is located.

Accept overwrite if asked.



IMPORTANT:
GMZ comes with an optional but recommended ReShade Addon that allows my shaders to ignore the game's UI, menus and dialogues.
While the addon is 100% working without Frame Generation, the compatibility becomes more random with Frame Generation enabled.

Use FSR3 Framegen instead of DLSS framegen: DLSS Framegen flickers the UI and crashes the game:

If FSR3 doesn't work neither and if you can't play without Frame Generation,:
- Try the alternate settings for the addon, located in the "GMZ_If Addon Dont Work Try This" - copy/paste/overwrite the file into the win64 folder.
- If it still doesn't work, then the only solution is to delete "ReshadeEffectShaderToggler.addon64" that comes with the mod.

Deleting this addon will make the reshade affects the HUD and UI of the game, but you can partially recover some using the "Preserve UI" option as seen below.



CONFIGURATION:
GMZ - GASMASKS OF THE ZONE preset will be loaded by default.
Toggle Night Vision with N key and toggle GasMasks with DEL Key. See below if you want to change the shortcuts.
 
Because a lot of presets come with misconfigured path and settings, GMZ overwrites them with its own ReShade.ini.
Here are the new shortcuts keys:

END: toggle ReShade menu
SCROLL LOCK: Toggle ReShade on/off
PRINTSCREEN: Take Screenshot

For those who installed on top of another ReShade: Open ReShade menu with END key and reload your previous preset from the preset tab that is located in the upper part of the ReShade menu:

"GMZ - GASMASKS OF THE ZONE" is the name of the preset and where the preset scroll menu is located


Below the preset tab is located the Techniques window where you can select your effects.
For those who installed on top of another ReShade, the Technique name to find and enable is called GMZ_GASMASK_OF_THE_ZONE:

type "gmz" in the search tab if you have too many effects



CUSTOMIZATION :
Below the Techniques windows can finally be found the Shader window, where you can configure the effects.
Find the GMZ.fx shader settings to customize the look and feel of your gasmasks and nightvision, as well as changing the shortcuts:


Right click "Enable Mask & Armor view" and "Enable Night-Vision"
to add your own shortcut key and toggle them ingame.



Mouse over the setting to read the tooltip about each effects:

MASK ARMOR TYPES: Shape of the mask based on STALKER 2 helmets and armors. Tool-tip tells you the corresponding helmets & armors.
MASK-ARMOR CONDITION: Condition and quality of the mask's glass. Performance mode disables this feature.
USE REFRACTION: Enable glass distortion of the image. Each mask has its own refraction.
GLASS CONDENSING: Enable breathing condensing animation and randomized steam accumulation inside the helmets.
GLASS TINT: Color gradient of the mask's glass. Helmet's glass seem to be tinted ingame, so I guessed why not adding a few lines for this.

NIGHT VISION TYPE:
Set of different Night Vision based on previous STALKER games NVGs and upgrade system. Digitals are black & white.

HEAD MOTION:
Enable movement of the camera to simulate movement of the head and the body in order to break the sliding feel of the original game.
HEAD MOTION CONTROL: Select your player movements layout based on your keyboard type: QWERTY, AZERTY or ARROWS.

PRESERVE UI:
Restore some of the UI if addon is not working. Not great but better than nothing.




PERFORMANCE MODE:
If you are too short on performances and prefer FPS over visual quality, Set the PERFORMANCE_MODE_MASKS and/or  PERFORMANCE_MODE_NVG options
to 1 to disable some effect and lines of code. This would save you some FPS at the expense of visual features.
