I strongly recommend that you talk to Marnie on the 2nd Summer in year one. Also on Jas's birthday!

Short:
Marnie breaks up with Lewis, with you and Shane there for support.
Long:
The saloon is empty except for Marnie, Shane, and Gus. Marnie thanks the farmer for coming, and says she's nervous but it has to be done. Lewis arrives and is annoyed at having "an audience", emphasizing their "need for discretion". Marnie says the whole town knows and she's tired of being his "dirty secret". Lewis as usual says being open about it would undermine his authority; Marnie calls this out as tired old BS. She tells him it's over. (Emily appears and peers through the saloon gate to eavesdrop.) Lewis says there's nothing to be over; they were just FWB and she convinced herself it was more, and he never meant to hurt her. The farmer doesn't buy this either, and Lewis leaves. Emily and Shane console Marnie.

EDIT: I tried to debug having 4 hearts with Jas, and the 4-heart cutscene triggered, but the 2-heart cutscene doesn't trigger at all.
