The new Desert Festival sprite uses Molenfeuer's amazing art from the Peaceful Ant (Paintings of Peace and new Shop) Mod. The trader has now unique dialogue too!

    Nice... though I still want to see a version where the hippie is a woman, the way the original desert trader is...

      If you think a woman can't have a beard I can't help with that.

      A woman could, but most don't, and if we want a gender non-conforming female character (there are several in play and at least one more coming even aside from the various things that allow it with the vanilla NPCs, IIRC) I'd  rather it be one of the ones with actual dialogue where she could be engaged with. Taking a visual image which is coded male and being snarky about it not being perceived as female isn't  helpful.

      do you think You are being helpful? or polite? or reasonable? I think you have a very strange idea of modding if you think modders owe you being helpful when you want something. I'm trans and I just did not like the implication.

      Let's  start over.

      I know modders do what they do for fun and are never obligated to cater to suggestions or comments.

      I'll be honest, the answer I was figuring I would get was, "I'm not changing my art, but you go ahead if it matters so much to you". I'd have said "that's totally cool, and with your permission to use the rest of the art, I could give it a go."

      (I struggle with code, even for content packs, so I don't  know how hard it would be to write a patch to allow a player to choose "with moustache/without", but I can edit pixel art). 

      I was not asking for your labour. I mentioned a it based on knowing that when you originally made the mod you didn't even know the desert trader was female.

      It wasn't intended as a referendum on transness or the validity of gender non-conforming people, cis or trans.  And I am sorry I hurt you. 

      This is probably all out of order since  the last is the most important.

      that's okay. it did not come out that way in your first comment but thanks for clearing yourself up. i haven't seen it mentioned that she is a woman in any case but it does not personally matter to me what their gender is.
